I was first contacted by these "ripoff" artists on December 10, 2008. I contacted them via email for information and they refused to provide me that I told them due to certian restrictions and past expierences that I would not communicate with someone over the phone because they attempt to trap you and tape conversations with our your persmission and they refused to tell me who they were why they were contracting me. Probaly in regards to an old debt that occured when I moved states.

They refused to provide me with information in regards to what it was about or what the balance on the account was or who they were. They have now since stolen money out of my account and are causing me to be evicted because they stole my rent my money and refuse to provide me with information as to who they are.

They are theives!!! I had told them I would just like to know who they were what it was and I would get it taken care of and they refused to provide that informatio. I don't make much money and now they have stolen everything that I have had even taken me into overdraw in my account! I count every cent and live paycheck to paycheck and now because of them I will be out on the street pregnant in the middle of the holiday season over their greed!!!!

I agree

I agree with 1 of the respondants never give out your account imformation. If I were you I would close my bank account and reopen it with new #s if this so called collection agency asks for the new account # refuse to give it.  These bill collectors cannot be trusted. I never speak to them on the phone or do I give them my bank account #. If they ever ask me for mine I tell them that I will not give that imformation out.

Do this

AUTHOR: Tweebs - (USA)

Contact the Utah State Attorney General's office (801-366-0260), the Office of Professional Conduct with the Utah State Bar Association (801-531-9110) and the FTC (1-877-382-4357). File a complaint against them with each of the listed above. The OPC will require you to fill out a complaint form and send it in. They can send it to you, or you can download it at: http://www.utahbar.org/public/consumer_assistance_program.html

The Attorney General's office will require you to submit a complaint in writing or typed with signature to them about what happened.

I suggest doing all three to get these...rats taken down. I have already filed a complaint with the FTC, I'm now submitting complaints to the other two listed above. Good luck. Oh yeah, if you go to the BBB of Utah's website, they gave Johnson Riddle & Mark an "F". LOL!

You gave them your account info even and claim you had no idea what they were and what they were collecting on ?

I don't believe that.

First of all NEVER EVER GIVE A COLLECTION AGENCY ACCOUNT INFO. As you have found out - they take more then they are entitled to.

POORLY HANDLED - your own fault and you get no sympathy.

The information on how to handle Collections is all over ROR and the internet. You chose to do things without knowing what you were doing and now you are complaining.

Do these people have an outstanding judgment against you? It is impossible to freeze someone's checking account without first taking them to court and getting a judgment.

Did they serve you a summons for a court date and on that court date did you show up? If you did not show up, then they received a default judgment against you and can unfortunately take money out of your account.
