Kings Creek Plantation's sales manager lied to me.  He said that there would be no increases in maintenance fees until the company stopped building the resort and that then it would be up to the

Property Owners association to determine annual fees.    He told me many other things regarding

RCI that proved to be untrue.   The Customer Service personnel are rude and poorly trained.  They often do not either give correct responses or they have to ask someone else to get an answer to a question that you would think would have an easy answer.  

Currently they will not let you make a transfer of weeks of ownership without completing a form and they will only accept the form on April 3rd.   They say we can get the form "on line" and they will not send it to us but we cannot find any place to get the form"on line".   We paid for summer weeks and they want to send poor dates to the trading company because they want to keep the "good" weeks to rent or trade for their favorite customers, etc.  

They are disgusting.

Buying time share property is a mistake.    Don't do it!

At the time of purchase, there may have been no plans to increase the MF and in 2011, 2012 and 2013, the MFs remained static (no increase occurred). The cost to operate a resort is spread out among all owners per an annual maintenance fee. The fee must also build up reserves to pay for non-recurring costs like furniture, landscaping, external upgrades, appliances etc. that need periodic replacement and other capital costs as normal physical deterioration occurs, similar to the costs of owning your home.

Your specific comment regarding summer weeks, indicates that you may be an annual red season owner which means there are no restrictions associated with when you book usage. As a red season owner many weeks other than summer weeks are included for booking or depositing. If your choice is to have a specific week deposited, you may call your home resort, set a specific week (contingent on availability) and then request it be deposited. There are no favorite owners and each red season owner has this same option.

We sincerely apologize for any rudeness you may have experienced and we take customer service seriously therefore, if you experience anything less than our Gold Standard in customer service, please confirm the associates name and report it to your owner services management team.  Having an informed owner is important to us and based on your comments, it seems that there may be options that you arent currently aware of. Weve personally been in the timeshare business for many years and truly understand how much there is to learn as a new owner. Timeshare is complicated and complex but we encourage you to call your owner services to participate inOwnership 101 training so that you are fully informed of all your options.Thank you in advance for allowing us to respond to your concerns.
