I was called oout of town and missed paying off my balance. Kohls charges a $27 fee on a $55 balance. That is highway robbery

Everyone charges an interest charge based on a percentage of what is owed. This is a 27 fee in addition to that on a balance of $55

This is not Highway Robbery, this is something you agreed to when you got the card.

If you are late by even 1 minute you get charged a "late fee". That late fee is specified in the terms and it is regardless of the reason. This is the way it is for just about every single credit card out there(as I am only aware of 1 major card that does not charge a fee).
