LA Fitness minutes to sign up months to cancel Chandler Arizona

At the beginning of May I downloaded the required form to cancel my LA fitness membership. I had been a member for 4 years and had been relatively happy with the club but I was moving back to Wisconsin and there are no clubs in this area.
On the form it was disclosed that it may take up to 30 days to process the cancellation. I thought that that is convinient for them. This way they can take my last month prepaid dues in June even though they would have had weeks to process my cancellation. But no, they are much more greedy than that. They intended to bill my credit card for June dues and apply the last month prepaid dues for the month of July. A letter did tell me to enjoy the club until Aug 15th!! This would keep me an active member for 3 months after I sent my cancellation letter. I sent the cancellation the firt week of May!! Unbelievable. These people are scam artists.
