Landmark Home Warranty Ripoff they like to collect money but their warranty is not worth the paper is written on Riverton Utah

 Landmark home warranty bought it two years ago also added their premier coverage for over $ 600 called for service for Garage door opener landmark set up a claim and contractor came after two weeks looked at the Garage dor opener and said he will have to order the belt that was broken and will come back next week to install.

contractor called one day befor the appointment to confirm appointment after he hung up 2 hours later I get a call claim denaid it also specified that chains not covered but did not mention belts in addition the extra premier coverage said it covered Garage door opener and anything not covered by the basik coverage.

They had already took responsability by setting it up with contractor also contractor already had authorization from  landmark to get the belts ordered. last minute they decided to avoid payment.

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to address your concerns. Please allow me to explain what occurred during this claim and why coverage is being denied for this repair. The contractors that Landmark works with are our business partners. They are independently owned and operated businesses that have agreed to service Landmark customers, however, they do not speak on behalf of Landmark. When the contractor called in their diagnosis to Landmark, the associate who took the call informed them that the repair would be denied and then immediately called to inform you of the denial. As stated in our contract:

“This contract covers only the items mentioned as covered and excludes all others.  Coverage is limited to one system or appliance (unless specifically noted or additional options purchased).”

“GARAGE DOOR OPENER COVERED: Motor, Capacitor, Eye Sensors, Switches, Receiver Unit, Carriage, Push Arm. EXCLUSIONS: Garage doors, Hinges, Springs, Remote Transmitters, Keypads, Chains, Cables, Adjustments, and Units not meeting current safety standards.”

“PREMIER COVERAGE UPGRADE The selection of this option provides coverage on the items, which are normally excluded from Standard Coverage. Garage Door Opener: Hinges, Springs and Remote Transmitter/Key Pad.”

The specific items listed above are the coverage that is paid for with the annual premium and covered by Landmark Home Warranty. “GARAGE DOOR OPENER” is the title of the subheading explaining the coverage provided and “Motor, Capacitor, Eye Sensors, Switches, Receiver Unit, Carriage, Push Arm” are the specific items covered. “Belts” are not an included item on that list. Also, “GARAGE DOOR OPENER” is a singular item indicating that Landmark only covers one, not two, for the contract year as supported by the statement previously given: “Coverage is limited to one system or appliance (unless specifically noted or additional options purchased).”

We are truly sorry for any misunderstanding that may have occurred, however, Landmark has attempted on numerous occasions to explain the exact coverage provided for this given situation. This is not a customer specific instance. To provide fair coverage to all of our customers we must adhere to our coverage guidelines.

I hope this helped explain why coverage if being denied. Your understanding of the coverage we offer is very important to us.
