Liberty Benefits Credit Card Ripoff - Debitted my account 4 days early GLOUCOSTER New Jersey

I was contacted by phone after signing up online for 'free' credit counseling information. I was told that Liberty benefits guaranteed a $2000 mastercard and other medical, legal, and travel benefits for only a $299 membership fee. I was skeptical but was assured by the young immigrant woman that it was all above board and that they would even call me and my bank 2 days before the transaction took place to verify. I authorized the transaction to take place on 11/3/03 and then was given to a verification officer named Kevin. He assured me that if I had any problems I could call in as little as 1 day before my transaction to change the date and he verified the same inforamtion I was given before.

Two days later I was hospitalized for an emergency surgery. After surgery and deeply medicated recovery and being off work for a week I knew that I wasn't going to have the funds to cover the transaction, I called the customer service line while I was verifying my checking account online to determine an accurate balance. Upon logging on to my checking account while still on hold with what ended up being a customer service clearing house, I found that they had already sent the transaction through to my bank a full FOUR days early.

I never got through to anyone on the 31st, but on the 1st of November, I finally spoke to a lady who claimed to be the supervisor. She refused her name and any other information about the company or in how to contact them. I cantacted my bank and they are pursuing the matter to help me get my money back but there is no guarantee that they can get it back.

Watch out for too good to be true, once again that seems to be the case after all.
