Lifestyle Family Fitness LFF Cancel in 30 days, NO QUESTIONS ASKED- What a joke!!! NO CANCEL and NO REFUNDS when they take your money. Naples, Florida

It was my understanding that my first payment of $101.20 to Lifestyle Fitness was to cover my first and last month’s worth of membership. It was also explained to me that I had 30 days to cancel for any reason no questions asked.  

When I walked into Lifestyle Fitness on Sep 7 after getting laid off I attempted to cancel my membership. I was told by staff that I would have to call the 800 to cancel, due to new policies they no longer can process cancellations in the office. I called the 800 and spoke to a representative who explained my options. I explained that I live 1 hour and 20 away from the location. When I later returned to the location to cancel I was turned away again and was told I would have to call the 800 number. I later called the 800 who explained that I would have to go to location to cancel. I explained to the person on the phone that I have tried twice to cancel at the location only to be turned away and referred to the 800 #. The rep from the 800 # contacted the location and explained to them what needed to be done to process my cancellation. When I returned to the location they had the papers ready and waiting for me to sign. 

I have only utilized the facility about 4 x's and would have continued my membership had I not lost my job. This entire ordeal has cost me 201.58 to Lifestyle and 135 in bank fees not counting the gas that it takes to drive the 41 mile distance each way. This all could have been avoided had they allowed me to cancel on 9/7/10 and honored their so called 30 day guarantee. They would have kept the 101.20 and we all would have gone about our lives.
