Linksys Unwilling to reset account password with Linksys SmartWiFi w/out big technical charge. Nationwide

Router was not used for a period of months. Went to reset Linksys Smart Wifi password and am sent in endless loop. Contacted Linksys and they want excessive amount of $ to reset a password to their smart wifi access account.  Most companies will provide assistance with resetting passwords so you can use ALL their various services at no charge. 

Tech did not seem to understand what the issue was, and just kept saying that there is a charge to support their devices out of warranty.
