About two weeks ago I was online applying for a job that required a cover letter. I went to google and searched for a website that would allow me to generate a cover letter for free, though I intially logged into the site thinking it would be free. Once I completed the cover letter it informed me it would cost $2.95. I thought no big deal, simply paid the fee and downloaded my cover letter.

Today I went into the bank to make a withdraw and realized my bank account was short $34.95, I did not recognize the charge being that I have been on bed rest the past week but also did not recognize the merchant's name and there was a 5 digit phone number linked to the transaction.

I immediately let the teller know this charge was not authorized by me and fradulent. I sat down with another banker and filed a claim. The banker explained to me that people could simply take your credit crad information while you are using a ATM and that in this case its best to get a new bank card wich I did and watch my account carefully.

I got home and was so in disbelief that  I had been a victim of this type of fraud so I called my sister and explained the story to her. She informed me that if I purchased anything on the internet agreeing to this monthy charge could of been in fine print. So  I looked into it and sure enough the same place that i purchased my cover letter from was the same place that authorized this charge.

I immediately got in contact with a live customer service agent who basically told me I am screwed. Its perfectly legal for them to mis lead you into believing you are making a one time purchase, when in reality by using their service one time your actually giving them permission to take your har earned cash.

I truly hope someone get a class action suit going against this company, they prey on unemployed people for cash that we obviously need.

#4 Consumer Comment

Please do you have a sense of justice and morality?

AUTHOR: Chou Yan - ()

POSTED: Sunday, June 29, 2014

I totally agree with what the previous consumer said, and I was equally, if not more, disappointed at their fraud. I shall also caution my bank to treat any withdraw from LIVECAREER (what a great bait-and-switch trick) account. Please, I hope any employee of this company would find a peaceful life, without the troubling mind of cheating and stealing:-). Next time when you type any customer response, think twice, are you really saying what you want to say as a customer service person, or are you selling your soul to your company?

Also no reciept sent on renewal charge

AUTHOR: lottm - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 05, 2013

Also if your comapany charging this renewal charge is totally legit why was there no reciept sent to my email when the money was charged off my card? Only by the grace of God the very next day I went into the bank to make a cash withdraw and realized this money was missing. Its as if if purposefully nothing was sent about the renewal charge with the hope that I didnt notice...I certainly did!

Funds reversed by bank and claim of fraud investigated

AUTHOR: lottm - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 05, 2013

Though Live Career stands by there decietful tactics to charge consumers a outrageous fee for using there services one time under the false pretense that they are only spending 2.95 when really you will be charged in 13 days another fee of almost 40 bucks. My bank DID reverse the funds and ultimately recover the money stolen from my account by LIVE CAREER. You can keep up with this dirty method of doing business but as we all were taught as children HONESTY is always the best policy.

Instead of send the details of the addition 40 dollar charge with the 2.95 reciept to the customer it should be mentioned in BOLD print before any credit card numbers are given. We both know the reason you do not do it this way is because then no one would spend any money with this scam web site. This current method is considered fraud by my bank and I'm sure many others, my money has already been replaced wich your company refused to do so providing me with contact information is unecessary. I also cut the debit card your company decided was okay to save i your system and have a new one.
