I used live careers website to create a resume, upon wanting to save the file it requested payment of $1.95. I decided that it was worth that to download. It did provide options to start a subscription which I did not select. After initially using the site I never used it again or got any correspondence from livecareer.com , fast forward five months and over 200 dollars has been charged to my credit card with no receipts for payment sent to my inbox or notification of these charges and supposed subscription. Basically they are hoping that people will not notice. Who in their right mind would sign up to 40 dollars a month to be able to edit a resume.

I contacted the company and got no joy in terms of customer service, they told me that there was nothing they could do. This company is run by a man called Jamie Freundlich who is basically an Internet thief based out of New York. I am out $201.95 , of which I authorized $1.95. This is an inherently dishonest and deceptive organization whose revenue is based of bait and switch tactics. Avoid at all costs!!

Dear Customer,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. All of our subscriptions are auto-renewing.The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. A monthly subscription makes it easy for our customers to customize the resume and cover letter for each position for which they are applying, and also to avoid interruption on the service.  We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously.  It will be forwarded to our Marketing team.
