Lobel financial, oh my god  has stressed me out soo much that im like dazed right now embarassed and confused. I am 2 months behind on my payment due to hard-ships i suffered, they didnt want to wait for me to pay them. They said they wanted the car I told them to come and get it. They never came, she calls a friend of mine this morning stating that the car has been in an accident and the shop called them and said I owe them money for fixing it. Then she says that they have the car now, which is a complete lie cause the car has been outside my house. My friend tells her the car is outside and she says well we dont want the car anymore because it is totally damaged, which is also a lie. It is a 1999 chevy suburban and has a crome fender that was bent in the front, I owe them 4,000 more on this car i have paid over 5,000 for this car. Well back to the topic, she says that she is going to garnish my wages 72% etc. I get to work this morning and she called I talked with her and told her to take the car or wait for a payment and she said that the same story she told my friend, how the car is in the shop and all this other mess. She said the car is in a accident and thats good for me I told them there was no accident. She asked where is the car I told her its at my house she said that if they get the car they are going to state that its total collision damage not understanding what she is trying to do with this.  She then went on talkin mess about me not payin my bills and all this I told her that i am at work and cannot talk about this anymore she then got really loud and over talked me I hung up. She called back 2 times my co-worker answered the phone and told her that she couldnt call my job like this and then she got really nasty and hostile with her. Not to mention that I was off work yesterday and they came up here and told the receptionist that they need to see me  because my car is up for repossion, which is no one else business. They came here a total of 3 times while i was at the hospital with my son. They were told prior that the car would be at my house after 5pm and that i wasnt at work and still did anyway. I dont really know what to do I am so close to payin this car off and I hate that I ever did business with them the car is a bucket and cost me so much money in keeping it maintain not to metion gas it cost a total of 150$ to fill the tank up right now with the gas prices. If you are reading this Dont TRust Lobel, they say one thing and then another.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

Get them to stop calling you.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (United States of America)

These people loan money to the sub prime market.  I just got a loan through them myself.  I am a collector and know the laws that govern them and all collections agencies.  FDCPA.  What you need to do is tell them in writing to stop contacting your referances, work, land lord and relatives.  I wouldnt go so far as to tell them to stop all communications as they may have something you want to hear but tell them how and when to contact you.  You could say something along the lines of "you may contact me only on Thursday and only between the hours of 5pm and 9pm.  You may only contact me on my cell phone (give the number)."  tell them to stop all communication with whomever you don't want them talking to.  The best method of sending this is email or even text message.  They cant claim they didnt get it.  If you do send a letter send it certified mail, return receipt requested.  then they have to sign for it and you get the receipt showing who signed for it and when.  What they did to you was really pushing it but I doubt you could sue anyone and win.  Good luck, I hope it turns out well for you.

Here's What To Say In Your Complaint

"Dear Attorney General, I am writing to complain about Lobel Financial.  I signed a contract which stated I was to make payments on time, everytime.  I have chosen to demonstrate my word is worthless.  I haven't made my payments and now they are calling me.  That is so unfair.  They need to have a heart but all they are interested in is money.  THey received billions and billions in tax payer handouts but they are still demanding payment from me, with is nothing more than a scam.  You see, I am financially challenged.  (I'm sorry if my tears are staing this letter)  They are taking advantage of me and I want you to tell them to stop.  I am so confused.  People tell me to get a part time job but I can't do that, it will destroy my social life.  With price increases in beer, wine and cigarettes, I cannot afford to make my payments on time.  I'm a citizen of this country and I'm entitled to a car.  Please tell them to stop!  I promise to pay when I win the lottery.  I know I have a good chance to win.  I spend almost $50 a week on lottery tickets!  Not only that, the car they forced me to buy is junk!  A friend told me it has a bad Cadillac converter and another friend told me the breaks are shot.  Oh Mr. Attorney General, please help me.  They even forced me to sign this high interest rate contract and I cannot believe all the money is going to pay down the interest !  Now that's another scam.  I must go now.  Somebody is doing alot of yelling in my trailer park.  That scares me because today is Dale Earnhart Day here in the trailer park and we're all to be respeckfull and drink responsibly.  Please help me."

Horrible

Although I do agree that we all agree to pay the lender back, however it gives them no right to come to your job, or harrass you like they have.

I don't know if you seen where the Attorney General got involved about the company and its debt collection practices, however if you didn't, there is a number for you to call and report this to. If enough people report them, hopefully they will get closed down.

Contact: (916) 324-5500 and file a complaint. Let them know everything that you just told all of us. They will help you, and they will FORCE LOBEL FINANCIAL to STOP what they are doing, and they most likely will be fined for what they have already done.

I truely am scared now that I just got a car financed with them. The dealership went through them because I bought a 2000 Ford Mustang with 98,000 miles on it, just to have as a 2nd car, or something to play with really. Because of the year of the car, and miles this is the only company who would finance it. I only owe a little over $3000, I put $2500 down on it. I think I will be cleaning out my savings and paying this off so I don't have to deal with these people. I knew they were bad when I went to my insurance company yesterday and when the lady ask who it was finaced with and I told her, she made a funny noise, and told me to baware. I live here in Anaheim where their corp office is. They every try to screw me over, I might have to pay them a visit.

Good luck and I hope this number helps you. The other thing I could say, if they keep giving you a hard time, and won't come get the car, drive it to there corp office, walk in and hand them the keys and tell them to stick up there....... you know.

Good Luck!!

You Should Be Stressed!

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, July 04, 2010

Lobel didn't do this to you...YOU DID!  You freely admitted you were two months behind in your payments.  Paying late or not paying at all turns on the collection efforts, plain and simple.  If they pick up the car it is sold at auction.  Whatever they get for the car at auction, they apply to the amount YOU agreed to in the contract...all payments, interest and late charges.  Whatever the auction proceeds do not pay, they go after the borrower for the remainder.  They often sue for that balance and obtain a judgement.  That can enable them to garnish your wages.

You may not like to hear all this, but it is what it is.  When you sign a contract, the lender agrees to finance you and YOU agree to repay the lender.  If you can't or won't make your payments on time, collection efforts are turned on by YOU.  By who?  By YOU!  YOU caused the stress you are experiencing by not living up to what YOU agreed to.  Don't blame Lobel.  Its not their fault YOU failed to live up to YOUR end of the agreement.

You seem to treat this repo in a casual fashion.  You were financed by Lobel because you have a track record of being a sub-prime credit risk because of your documented history of not paying your bills on time BEFORE using Lobel.  Now, here you are again doing the same thing!  Do you think that somehow, someway it might be time to approach your finances with integrity and responsibility?  Go ahead and call me names!
