I found locksmith-pros on the internet. Website states that there is a $15 fee for a service call and a house lockout charge starting at $35. When I called to set up an appointment, I asked about the fee and the dispatcher informed me that the technician would have to make an assessment.

The technician arrived 30 mins late. When I greeted him, he stated that he would first try to pick the lock and if that didn't work he would have to drill it out. But before he did any work he prepared an invoice that was for $140, $15 service call fee and $120 unlock fee.

I questioned why the cost was so much higher than the advertised price, he responded that it was the price the company makes him charge.

He was able to pick the lock in about 10-20 secs.

I selected locksmith-pros because I had called other locksmith, most quoted that they would charge $75 if they had to drill, so I went for the lower price advertised by locksmith-pros.

When I called the company back, I requested to talk to a supervisor, the dispatcher informed me that she was in charge and had the authority to settle any dispute and that I would not receive a refund. I also questioned what would constitute a $35 charge, if it wasn't being able to unlock by picking the lock, which requires very little time or equipment. The response was that the technician bases the fee on the labor and work required. Which contradictes what the technician had told me. Later in the conversation, she informed me that the supervisors were in a meeting, it was approximately 6:45 pm, and that it would be at least an hour before the meeting was over. I requested that someone call me, of course no one has called me back.

The terms and conditions from their website states:

Satisfaction Guaranteed Explained

"Should you have a dispute with any locksmith technician and you are not satisfied with the services you were provided by the technician, you may address such disputes with the service technician directly. If no satisfactory conclusion is reached you may contact Locksmith Pros in order to further discuss a satisfactory resolution to your claim. We reserve the right to determine the final decision regarding your entitlement to a full refund of the services. It is in our best interest that each client of Locksmith Pros is satisfied with the services that are provided."

Notice they only specify the services provided by the technician in their guarantee, not that they will honor their advertised prices.

While the technician was able to unlock the door, which I would happily pay for, this company is, in my opinion, deceptive and dishonest. This company should be avoided because it is a ripoff!!!!!
