First off, read the other rip-off report filed on May 24, 2011 as it is a perfectly accurate account of just the kind of deal I got from this dishonest company. The other report filed by "anonymous" in Dallas, TX bought their truck in Tifton, GA from the Lone Mountain Truck location there, but my ordeal is in regards to a lemon of a truck I bought from them at their Iowa location. Is it irony that they have moved their location from Nevada, to Nebraska, to now Iowa? Is it irony that the owner Joe Hoovestol is so quick to dispute claims against his business that are POPPING UP ALL OVER THE INTERNET? He responded to the "Anonymous" reporter saying to go to "Truckers Report" and read all the good reviews about his trucks and satisfied customers but if you notice he is the sponsor of that forum... hmmm??? Irony? BUUUUUTTTT, if you weed through all the reports on there that are smoke screens/bogus non-subject related retoric and take the time to find and read the serious complaints that are there hidden, you will see the same exact kind of complaints about LoneMountain. They took my money for a nightmare of a truck that I have spent a fortune now repairing (repairs that you don't see on trucks under a million miles or on trucks severely neglected & abused and some related to risk to operator and the publics safety) and have been shown no regard by Joe Hoovestol and his posse of fast talking, rude, attitude flaring co-horts. After all the bad business dealings, a class action lawsuit is on the horizon for this sham of a business, in my opinion, or at the very least multiple very pissed-off and ripped- off complaintants coming together to seek legal justice. I'm onboard... just respond to this post so we can begin putting something together.

i have been an O.O. for 30 years i have got the last 2 trucks from l.m.t.leassing and yes they have had things go wrong with the trucks but the trucks are "used" so suck it up pay for it like you agreed to, they can not predict all the the things that can go wrong with any truck, i can go some where else to by my trucks but it is easy to get one from them so i go back maybe some of you guys should think about driving for a company insted of being O.O. brake downs are part of doing bissines.

I am the owner of Lone mountain and am fairly certain I have never talked to this person. However, every customer is aware that repairs are their responsibility once they leave with the truck.
We bring these trucks in from fleets and get them ready for sale. We make sure they pass DOT and Dyno inspections at a 3rd party, after that the truck is the customer's responsibility. If you don't want to pay for repairs a new truck would probably be a better option than a used truck for you.
If you want to return your truck I'll refund your down payment in full if you return the truck in the condition it left.
