My husband and I decided to buy a semi and went to Pacific Junction, Iowa to purchase the truck after speaking with their sales people several times. They made everything sound just wonderful. When we got there they had two trucks for us to chose from, both volvo 780's. Both were pretty nice in appearance but that is pretty much it. On the truck we chose we noticed one of the steer tires had a chunk taken out of it so they replaced the front two tires. We took the truck and had it dino'd. It passed that test and we took the truck home.
We didn't have the truck home maybe two weeks and the air conditioner went out. We replaced that. Then the truck started missing so we had the overhead ran. (didn't do a bit of good) Took the truck to a volvo dealer and they said one of the injectors was bad. (replaced that) Not to mention all the fuel filters we have replaced due to all the garbage in the fuel tanks. We also had to replace the alternator. Finally had enough and called Lone Mountain to which all they say is we don't finance repairs. As the other person stated they are very rude and hateful, after the sell. Thank God for the what warranty we did have. Anyway the last straw with Lone mountain happened this past week. We just had our truck towed from the interstate in Ohio. The clutch went out and the air charger went out. Our truck is only a 2007 and should not have all these issues. It is apparent that Lone Mountain DOES NOT check these trucks thoroughly before they put them out for sale. There is NO service after the sell with this company. We have been out over $10,000.00 in repairs since April of this year and have the receipts to prove it.
They had the audacity to send us a free coffee cup and sales cards after we called them for help, they wanted us to recommend their company. I will never recommend Lone Mountain to anyone, because I DO NOT want them to go through the hardships my husband and I have gone through since we purchased this truck in April of this year.
The OWNER of Lone Mountain should make a call to the drivers who purchase these trucks and see just how happy they are with their truck they have purchased from him. I'm sure there are many unsatisfied Lone Mountain truck owners out there besides us.

To the so called "veteran owner operator" I would invite you to actually give me a call , however, I assume you are only a big talker on internet message boards and not on the phone, and certainly not in person.
If you were actually a veteran owner operator, you would take responsibility and take PRIDE in your truck.
If you think there is some conspiracy against you, then bring you truck back and you can have your down payment. Pretty simple.

I am in disbelief of how Wayne and Tammy can feel so wronged on 8/12/11, and then now only a few days later is humbly apologizing to the owner! Does this not WREAK OF PAYOFF to shut-up about this sham of a business??? Anyone??? Wayne and Tammy, you should be ashamed of yourselves that they screwed you and then paid you off or made your individual situation right when the rest of the truckdrivers out here will continue to get screwed over royally! Where is the loyalty to one of your own???

RETRACTION

I want to retract my last post. I was very upset due to the fact that every paycheck has gone for repairs on our truck. I understand that lone mountain cannot foresee the clutch going out and the other things that have gone wrong with the truck. I understand that there will be general maintenance on these vehicles. Lone mountain did replace the steer tires on the truck when we purchased it. We do not want to return the truck. To the owner of lone mountain I am sorry I spoke out of turn and upset you.

As the owner of Lone Mountain I would be happy to talk to customers that are not satisfied so that I can see how we can improve. We have thousands of trucks out on the road, and there are bound to be problems with some of them. These are used trucks. Nearly everyone I hear from is very happy with the truck they have from Lone Mountain.
Fixing an alternator or air conditioner are both things that are just part of running a truck. The injector was probably covered by your warranty.
We bring these trucks in from fleets and get them ready for sale. We make sure they pass DOT and Dyno inspections at a 3rd party, after that the truck is the customer's responsibility. If you don't want to pay for repairs a new truck would probably be a better option than a used truck for you.
If you want to return your truck I'll refund your down payment in full if you return the truck in the condition it left.
