After placing a downpayment of $12,000 and taking possession of a new Toyota, I had to arrange for a loan to cover the roughly $18,000 balance on the price of the car. The finance department offered me a loan through Toyota for 9.9%. My credit union had new car financing for 6.9%, so I told Lustine that I would get a loan through my credit union, which would take 7-10 business days to process and disburse. "That's perfectly acceptible George. We're just happy to have you as a satisfied customer."

Imagine my surprise when, one week later I received a coupon book from Toyota financing for payments on the owed balance. I went in to the dealership to clear up what I believed to be an honest mistake and reiterate the agreement we had to pay off the vehicle with the money I was waiting for from my credit union. Charlotte, the queen bee of the finance department was hearing none of it, and had no interest in acknowledging any verbal agreement made in conjunction with the sale. It turns out that she submitted my paperwork to Toyota before the ink was dry in an underhanded attempt to capture the loan at their higher rate (which would have netted them over $1500 more of my money). The surly Charlotte was none too happy with my exposing her sleazy scheme, and she very boorishly made that known. Were she not a homogametic member of the species, she'd be missing a few teeth today.
