I always triple check my rebate applications before I send them in. I have never been denied a rebate before and I have a copy of everything I sent in. They denied my rebate saying I did not send the UPC bar code in.
I know I sent it and I have a copy of it.

I have been in touch with thier Rebate Center and a email address I found on FatWallet (supposedly of thier CEO) saying they don't deny rightful rebates and if you have been denied, send him your information and he will personally look into it. The person who answered from that email address, Bill, asked for a scan of my UPC code which I mailed back and I haven't heard from him or the Rebate Center ever since. To do my part, I have mailed them a copy of everything(including the UPC bar code) all over again.

I am being denied a $30 rebate on a 128MB SD Card that I bought off.

Rebate Fraud

I can understand your frustration with this company. I'm sad to admit that I worked a temporary data entry job for this company this spring. I did it because I needed the money. Although the employees I met were, for the most part, kind, I would never purchase a product from Mach Speed Technlogies.

I was one of the people that "process" the rebates (I didn't deny or approve them... just typed the person's info into excel sheets... MachSpeed has a horrible 'database'). The company is extremely disorganized. The rebate forms are kept in boxes and are organized simply by month and site (such as October buy.com).

When a person calls, the lady that usually answers has to dig through tons of excel sheets and boxes. When I would type up the info from the rebates (which was usually 300 entries per box... I did 5 boxes a week, so that's mostly 1,500 people that were denied rebates for various reasons. Sometimes the person really wouldn't have the upc code, but rebates were also denied for reasons such as the person had bad handwritting and the person who approves/declines the rebates wasn't going to struggle to read it.

I did process some approved rebates, but in ratio, it was probably 95% declined, 5% approved. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I think their rebate practices are horrid and they need to get a REAL database system so they can keep track of these rebates and customers. Excel is NOT a database.
