I bought my first magellan and got it home and it wouldn't update.Would just connect and then immediately disconnect.
I called and pressed one for customer service and it said to go to chat on website and disco'ed. I should have know then but I trudged on. I kept the chat box open for almost an hour. For that WHOLE time I stayed 7th in line.
I finally called back and just chose warranty and not tech support. I had to wait forever for a rep. Got her on the line and after trouble shooting for almost and hour, she said I had to take it back because it wasn't working and she couldn't tell why. Took it back to Walmart and did what she said and ordered straight from their store.
I said I needed landmark guidance and was told the one they recommended had it so I ordered it. Next day had to call back because looking at youtube videos showed me it DID NOT have landmark guidance. Called and explained to the rep and he said that he could just remove the one I had in the order (I had also ordered a case and a mount) and then could order the right one in a second order. Wanted ANOTHER $12 to ship tho.
I told rep to just cancel whole order and I would just go to Walmart and get it. After two Walmarts, I finally found it, bought it, and came home. Thought I was done. Nope, this one won't stay on.
It updated just fine but if you unplug it to use the battery, it stays on for about 10 seconds and then shuts off. It was left to charge over night so it is supposed to be charged. So I planned on taking it back tomorrow. Now tonight I get an email saying that the order I cancelled with the customer service rep was shipped. That is after getting an email yesterday saying it was cancelled.
Now I have to call the company back for the FIFTH time on TUESDAY because it is a holiday and they are not open Sat, Sun and now Mon. Do you think I will get back the money I was PROMISED would be back on my card by Tuesday?
Nope, guessing it won't be on my card.Worst experience with a company I have EVER had.
