MagicJack MagicJack LP Family counseling five-year subscription phone number abruptly given to another customer West Palm Beach, Florida

This is to report the grief, embarrassment, and confusion caused by MagicJack when they abruptly, without any notice, gave our counseling ministry's phone number 336-291-3024 to another customer.

After renewing my subscription annually for several years, I bought a five year subscription to use the number as a phone answering service for prospective clients and also for a dozen or so businesses to identify our registrations and memberships with them. Suddenly in May 2012, all calls stopped. That's when I learned about the fine print in MagicJack's disclosure that "We reserve the right to reclaim any telephone number that does not make a call for a consecutive 90 days."

I have had to throw away costly printed materials and scramble to notify every directory, business, and person about the change. GracePoint has lost contacts and confidence with clients. Chat representatives have cut me off/discontinued the chat when I have tried to communicate my issue. Not to offend, but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. At least, they should refund our five year subscription (we are a small non-profit with a small budget). I have been in ministry for 45 years and have learned that the best companies respond to problems and that good people are reasonable.
