Marc Labate, owner of Allied Construction bids on all sorts of residential and commercial projects.

He (Marc) claims to be a licensed electrician & plumber with clients such as Abercrombie, City of Austin, major stores and shopping centers and non profits.

He was hired to do a job for a light remodel that he collected payment for and never began the work. After calling the police regarding the theft of our money, he came out and started demolition work without our knowledge. After demolition, he said the amount collected wasn't enough to complete the job and needed $25,000 more to put it back together.

I of course didn't pay him for that and started calling other contractors.

When he found out we were bidding the work out to other people, he started threatening me as well as the architect of the project with physical harm and tried to extort more money from the both of us.

We have called the local law enforcement and are in the process of a restraining order. Additionally, we have started contacting licensing bureaus to have this person investigated because he is operating like he is licensed.

After dealing with our attorney, we have found out that over the past 5 years, he's put liens on companies and their property, torn the roof off of an old lady's house and never fixed it leaving her essentially homeless, been sued by some people who forced him into bankruptcy about 2 years ago, forged documents, and was under investigation by the federal bankruptcy court until he was forced into settling with creditors.

I'm surprised this guy hasn't been run out of town.

(P.S. He doesn't pay his subs either... and they will file liens on your property when they're not paid!)
