McAfee ALBERT BEAWARE OF FALSE VIRUSES THEY INSERT IN YOUR COMPUTER IN ORDER TO UPSELL YOU SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA

Be aware of these people and company they have over 300 complaints just this year alone asnd they are registered with the BBB. So that should tell you something already.

My experience was that i bought a new laptop and i had just days earlier renewed my antivirus subscription. I called thenm to assist me in making sure they would transfer my subscription to my new laptop. Well they said no problem and i might add like many other have noted, he could speak english very well. He said he had to get into my computer remotely first to check the computer mind you this computer was less than week old and i barley used it before i called them. He said he was trying to install my software but it failed because there was a network virus and it would not let my anti virus install. He showed me this mombe jumbo crap which i am sure he inserted in in tryint to show me it was not downloading properly.

So now he says. i can help you get rid of that network virus (mind you i am not on any business network) it will only cosy=t me $299 and they can take care of it. I told him to take a flying hike nicely and i said i would get another opinion. He said he could speak to his manager and see if he bring it lower, he came back after a few minutes and said good news we can do it for 199.00 and protect you the rest of the year. I said he was crazy if he thought i was going to pay anything. He said he would show it was a good deal. he pulled up some screen shots of network protection software that costing between 2 to 3 thousand. these were for full blown business with majoe newtworks. he really must thought i was one of these suckers thought would just hand over money. I said no again and then he said. what do you want to pay? I said it was still to high. he then came back and said $99. and this offer was only for tonight. I stilll said no and told him he better use better sales tactics then that. I told him I was in sales for over 20 years and that tactic of sense of urgency and only a one night special is old. He then backed off and said oh i did not know you were in sales. sorry. Well i said if i find out that he was pulling a scam i would be writing this nice little story.

bottom line is that my laptop was scanned by MIS friend the next day and she said there was no virus whatsoever and top of that she downloaded my subscription with no problem.  obviously i will not be renewing and i will advise everyone possible of this scam they pull on people. i am sure they have scamed many customers but not me!
