My experience with MedAesthetica has been as much a nightmare as everyone here has described before me. I truly wish I had access to this information before starting treatment with these people.
I'm tall and thin, but one of our family traits is 'love handles.' Not being the easiest place to reduce by exercise I succumbed to the enticing radio ads I kept hearing about LipoZap and scheduled a consultation. As everyone here who has filed a complaint against the company will attest, the consultation is dripping with false promises of "virtually painless" treatments and a multitude of misleading money back guarantees. Like an idiot, I believed them and forked over $2,300.00 for a series of four treatments.
Any description you may have read regarding the intensity of the pain involved during the post treatment recovery process is, if anything, understated. While the actual treatments are only mildly uncomfortable, the following several days are intensely miserable. My injection sites were across my lower back, sides and anterior abdomen. Intense burning and itching is followed by acute muscle pain for 3-4 days. The next two weeks felt like I had a severe sunburn, and I had to postpone my second treatment by two weeks until I felt I could tolerate them poking me with needles once again.
I discussed my reaction to the procedure with the staff prior to my second treatment. I was told that isn't unusual for first timers, and my recovery time would be much better with the second treatment as they wouldn't be giving me nearly as many shots and a significant amount of fat had already been dissolved during the first treatment. Once again, I played the role of trusting idiot. The second treatment was even worse than the first.
At this point I decided two episodes of torture was more than enough, and I cancelled my remaining two appointments. On November 9, 2007, I spoke with a customer rep who confirmed I would be refunded the unused portion of my payment and instructed me to submit a formal email request.
Since that time I have submitted 3 more email requests and left at least 10 voicemails -- all of which have been ignored.
Obviously, it is their protocol to promise anything to get your money, and then to fail to meet up to any of the promises and assurances their representatives use to entice you.
I've decided to file a breach of contract lawsuit against these crooks. I'm also hoping someone out there is putting together a class action suit against them, and if so they contact me to participate. If I have any luck following a legal course of action I will share it here.
