MedAesthetica Medical Group REFUND RIPOFF Tustin California

Another complaint about MedAsthetica Medical Group, Inc., also known as LipoZap. When I first began investigating companies that performed the LipoDissolve procedure LipoZap kept coming up which is a testiment to their advertising campaign. I looked thoughout the internet for any complaints and did not find any at the time I signed the contracts to have the LipoDissolve procedure. Now it looks like they are starting to surface.

I signed the contract on July 2, 2007 and had the test shot and everything went well. I was schedule for my first injection appointment on August 17, 2007 and everything was a go until I was asked if I had any change in medication. I let them know that my primary care physician had increased my thyroid medication, Levothroxine, from 25mcg to 50mcg. I was then informed that they would not continue with my treatment without my physicians approval.

Of course, my PCP had no wish to be liabible for any part of this procedure and would not authorize anything. She also felt that my medication increase was a minimal amount. After going back and forth with the Tustin office and the Dr. Anise Adams, Staff Physician, they would not continue.

I then called a major competitor of LipoZap, Fig and another local doctor who performs LipoDissolve, and both stated that they would gladly perfom the procedure. Both stated that the thyroid medication I was taking as minimal and should not have any adverse affect on the procedure. I informed Dr. Adams of fact that these other companies were willing to offer the procedure but they would still not continue.

On September 4, 2007 I was authorized a full refund by an Medaesthetica employee and signed a release form, provided by this employee. After not receiving the refund 30 days later I made many phone calls I was informed that they now have a new refund policy and they no longer speak to clients directly. All refunds must go through their email system of clientservices@medaesthetica.com. I was also informed that this process could take another 4-6 weeks to be reviewed. We have been emailing each other ever since, through their client services email address, and still no resolution as of December 2007.

MedAesthetica is stating that the cancellation of the procedure was my election and has tried to charge me for the test shots and additional supplements. They also want me to sign another release form for the revised amount - which I WILL NOT DO. I've already been authorized a full refund. I have clearly stated on, numerous occasions, that the procedure was stopped by MedAesthetica and that I was entitled to a full refund according to their own cancellation policy in the contract. I've also asked that they pay the undisputed portion, which they have yet to do.

I have since completed the LipoDissolve procedure with another doctor and am happy with my results. Also, there have been no side effects due to my thyroid medication.

I have just filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs and will file complaints everywhere I can. BE VERY VERY CAREFULL WITH THIS COMPANY AS THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY EVEN WHEN THEY ARE AT FAULT!
