I am free! I can save money! No more Melaleuca "The Wellness Company".  My house is like a warehouse of Melaleuca Products.  Almost every month since 2005 I have made an order to this company.  The amount of product you MUST select is 35 points worth which amounts to approximately $86.00 including shipping & handling.  I have learned from experience if an order is not placed all this weird stuff arrives that you never use and have to pay for.

I was hesitant in joining Melaleuca because it cost $50.00 initally to purchase their stuff - I joined this rip off company on a special the $50.00 was included if you buy all the household cleaning stuff.  I never really noticed that my visa was also charged $16.50 membership renewal fee every year as well.

The last straw was in August my order was 30 points. On September 18th I receive a box of Melaleuca products which is what the company refers to a back up order because I didn't order the full 35 points - 5 points shy.  Another $86.56 for product & S & H.

I phoned to cancel September 18th after this whole episode because I do not like the way this company FORCES YOU TO BUY things you DO NOT want!  I like to be in control of my shopping and spending expecially if I have to pay a membership & Melaleuca "The Wellness Company" gives you no choice to purchase or not.  Phoned them 3 X , Sent 3 emails, mailed a letter (because they needed my signature) & faxed them at 1-888-528-2090 with back up proof.  They sent me confirmation of membership cancellation today so we will see what happens in October.

Be very wary of joining this cult!

An Irresponsible Complaint

AUTHOR: Cale - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, November 06, 2015

I've been a Melaleuca customer for 17 years. I don't try to get others to join or promote the company in any way, but I felt that this public complaint merited a public response from someone who's familiar with the company. Melaleuca is essentially a shopping club, like Sam's or Costco. You don't have to become a "preferred customer" in order to shop with them, but you get better prices as a preferred customer, usually saving 30-40% on purchases.

If you choose to become a preferred customer, you must commit to purchasing a minimum amount of product each month, just as the complaint alleges. It's a voluntary commitment that makes sense if one wants to shop regularly with this company. In exchange for your commitment to shop regularly, you get to save 30-40% on your purchases. New members are asked to set up what's called a "backup order" so that their contractual commitment can be maintained if they forget to place a monthly order. Without a backup order in place, the individual's preferred membership status would be canceled in the event that he/she failed to keep their commitment, forfeiting any other standing he/she might have attained with the company. So the purpose of the backup order is to protect the preferred customer.

This is all clearly explained up front. There's no deception of any kind. So the person who posted the complaint had to have knowingly entered into an agreement to make regular purchases, failed to do so, and has now complained because the company filled the backup order that he/she had set up with them. If he/she didn't like the backup order that he/she created, he/she could have changed it at any time. Perhaps the complainant simply isn't responsible enough to keep his/her commitments. That hardly seems a valid reason for blasting Melaleuca, even calling the company a "cult."

Melaleuca offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all their products. In 17 years I have been dissatisfied on a few occasions. Each time I contacted them with my complaint, they apologized and promptly did whatever it took it make it good. And Melaleuca does not require anyone to remain a preferred customer. If you join and then decide it's not for you, all you have to do is let them know. You'll never hear from them again. Yes, they'll want your cancellation in writing because it involves terminating a contractual agreement which obligates the company as well as the customer.

In summary, I've found Melaleuca to be an honest and forthright company that goes out of its way to make its customers happy. And, knowing how preferred membership works with Melaleuca, I don't believe the complainant had any valid reason whatsoever for posting his/her complaint.

Melaleuca Is a Wellness Company!!!

I must say I am very surprised a prefered customer since 2005 would vent and try and discredit a company that is proven to work, and proven to last.  If you were a customer since 2005 you know that Melaleuca is ownded by us "The Customers."  A back-up order is just that a order sent to you when you do not meet your agreed commitment of 35 product points by the last day of the current month, and everyone must sign an agreement of understanding before their account is activated.

If your order meet 30 points, then you knew you had not meet your committment, because you are given an alert before you complete check-out, therefore, you knew you must order an additional 5 points worth of products.  You could have added 2 boxes of Melaleuca herbal tea to your order, it would have only blessed you in your health, and costed an additional $7 if that much.  You signed an agreement, and apparantly met it every month since 2005.  They would have worked it out with you, I have seen it for my referrals several times in my less than 6 months of being with the company, from waiving shipping to assisting my customer in meeting their committment.

We are not forced to purchase any products, our policy allow us to cancel our prefered account at any time, you could have switch to direct customer with no monthly obligations however, you would not have still been able to reap the benifits and discounts but you could have stilled purchased the products you must have been pleased with since 2005 at regular price.

In order for the cancelation to be affective in the same month, the cancelation must be before the 25th of that month, otherwise it will become effect the first business day of the following month.  We are also allowed to select our back-up orders to avoid receiving products we do not want.  You must have been pleased with the products and the company, because you repeat ordered every month since 2005.

I have been a prefered customer and Independant Marketing Executive since October 2012 with Melaleuca, and I have had more success in my health, control over my diabetes, my hypertension is now under control, my nerve damage and chronic pain in control, all thanks to ProvexCV and Provex PLUS, Praise God.

I know for a fact this company is just as they advertise as their concept: "Helping people enhance their lives, while helping them reach their goal."  Did you set goals, and work faithfully to allow them to help you meet them?  You were  part of a company that truly care for us, our family, and the environment.   You say you are free, but in a time of a recession, and health issues and diseases on an uprise epidemic, you were with a good company that address those issues.  It is your personal support team that must not have been too supportive with assisting in building a business over the years, which is what I have found to be the real rare issue of people having anything negative to say which I have not experianced except on this cite.

I pray you be blessed, and very sorry you left the organization, but much success to you in the future.  Prayerfull you will come back soon.

Melaleuca is a fabulous company!!

AUTHOR: Linda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 23, 2009

I have been a Melaleuca customer for 20 years and I love it. If a person does not want to buy their products every month from our company, then do not join. Simple. But I prefer to buy my needs every month from a great company that gives me products that have lowered my husbands and my cholesterol by 40 points naturally, that has helped my arthritis naturally, that cuts my work load in the kitchen and bathroom up to 50% with products that are safer, and 30-40% cheaper, that give me salon quality products at walmart prices, that give us great relief when we have cuts, burns, poison ivy, insect bites, etc,. that has provided my family an income that I would never get by shopping at my local drug and grocery stores. Our company says that it uses the best combination of science and nature. Arsenic is natural. We have ingredients that have gone through a long process to make sure they work and that they are safe. No other company goes to such lengths to make sure we have safe ingredients. As an example:we do not use the melaleuca oil from Thursday's Plantation in Australia because they lied to us about using insecticides and fertilizers on their plants. Many natural foods companies use Thursday Plantation's oil. This is just one example of many. You can trust our company.

All a person needs is a little discipline to sit down and figure out what products they are going to have to buy in the next 3-4 weeks and make a list and order it. Any one who tells me they get products they do not need is getting a back up order and they are buying the products they need for the month from some other store. You have to buy again and again, tooth paste, deodorant, laundry detergent, dish soap, cereals, crackers, cookies, aspirin, shampoo, conditioners, - add to that 300 other products.  I have never used a back up order ever. I order what I need. It is your problem not the companies. If you do not have the discipline to order what you need every month and want to pay 30-40% more for products that harm the environment, and waste those dollars year after year, you SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED WITH OUR COMPANY

The best way to work this business is to talk to your friends, business associates, relatives, and business owners. You do not have to spend money or hours and hours on the phone. If you cannot do that then this is not for you as a business, simple.

When I started this company I had no help from anyone and I just talked to people I met and there was a need and we ran with it. That is still true today. I have over 1000 customers in my business and close to 50% are getting checks because my husband and I just switched stores. Over 20 years this company has put over 2 million dollars into our families pockets. If I had kept buying from the grocery stores I would have nothing over those years to show my loyalty towards them. My story is true for thousands of Melaleuca customers. We love this company.
