Merchants Credit Guide - Ken Hughes Ripoff Defraud Chicago Illinois
*Consumer Suggestion: Glen...Forget the "class action"...it goes nowhere.
I keep getting voice mail that says "It's important to call Ken Hughes at 888..., this is not a sales or marketing. Again, it's important to call Ken Hughes at 888..." I keep getting "bills" from a SPRINT account that I never had. I lived in Martinsville Virginia and had Bellsouth for phone service. The bill states I owe $150 or so. This is B.S.
I do not owe Sprint or any other phone providor. I am considering legal action against this so called collector. I have sent them a "Validation" request and a "Cease and Desist" letter warning to not call. I am interested in seeking a class action suit to stop illegal harassment.
Thank you.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Glen...Forget the "class action"...it goes nowhere.

Glen,
Merchant's Credit Guide is a JUNK DEBT BUYER as well as a collection agency. They are fishing. Everyone with the same or similar name is getting the same letter and phone calls.
As per the FDCPA, the letter you need to send is a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.
Even MCG CO will not sue for $150. They will simply move on to the next person who doesn't fight back. As soon as you fight back, they go away. They want the easy money.
As far as the "class action" goes, that is always a waste of time and you get nothing. The lawyers are the only ones to make money on a class action.
File small claims on them yourself for the FDCPA and FCRA violations.
