This is crazy. Merchant's Credit Guide Co is nutz!!!!!!

We also got a dunning letter demanding get this, $16,000.32. Supposedly their client is PINNACLE CREDIT SERVICES and the original creditor is BOFA. The only debt my husband has from BofA was a school loan which was sold to SallieMae and we paid it off. That was $2650.00 no where close to $16,000.32.

The statute of Limitations in CA is 4 years and I have my husband's credit report for every year for the last 6 years and there is nothing of this sort on his record. Sure he had a few collections ($100-the school loan) but we cleared it up when we bought our home 4 years ago. Our credit scores are 743 and 783!

I was outraged when I found out on this website that sometimes these fools put these bogus debts on their credit reports. I ran our reports again last night and still nothing but of course I'm worried. $16,000.32 is no joke. I think these fools are buying names for pennies that at one point in their life owed debt and went into collections. Then they make up account names, dollar amounts, etc and send out these boilerplate letters across the nation to what they presume are unresponsible, stupid people who will pay up and don't know anything. What they are doing is illegal, false, unfair, unethical, deceptive 808, 807 and 808, you name it.

And The Better Business Bureay has a zillion compliants on these bastards, too!

So, Yes I sent the famous Mr. Ken a Cease and Desist letter telling him SOL has expired and this debt is bogus and to leave us alone.

I then filed a compliant online to the FTC and the CA State Attorney's office just like everyone else. I asked the FTC to look up all of our complaints on the Ripoffreport and BBB and go after these fools. We all know how to deal with them. We know our rights. The point is the FTC needs to go after the problem. Mr Ken and this company who alleges "ethically collects debt" in their website needs to be stopped and punished. I got a letter back from the FTC today and I was disappointed. Again, they told me how to deal with the company and what kind of letter to write and so on. And they also said if I owed the debt to make arrangements, etc. Someone didn't read my letter carefully. Why would I pay a bogus $16,000 debt that is not fightable in court by these asses? The they suggested a private suit. Private is not the way to go here. We need a class action law suit. It's time they pay up.

Please, whoever has experienced this crap from Merchants CRedit Guide CO, keep writing your reports and we will use this as evidence against these bastards hopefully soon.
