Took the car for a simple state inspection, I knew this car was in great condition simply by keeping regular maintenance. They said their emissions machine was not working.

They had to go to another shop. I asked them to call me when its done. Many hours later. I called. They said. " Its going to need some work to make it pass".

I knew this was not true. I asked them to tell me what was needed so I could approve. Also, Show me the replaced parts. I always etched parts to prove they were replace. They said. The car is done. I was suspicious after 6 hours. The desk person Steve said. "Oh, the car passed emissions with flying colors" Then they showed a bill for $800.00 Replacing a right rear brake.

Some shocks. And some control arms. But only on one side! Then, I started the car. It was weak, the temperature shot to the top "this had never run beyond normal before" and it billowed

White smoke from the tailpipe. I told the desk customer service person Steve. He called the mechanic. Herb Hollinger. I showed him what the car was doing.

And I saw a large gash on the dashboard right to where the inspection sticker was placed. He said he would put tape on it. Then he took the car. It ran very slowly. Almost no power.

And the right rear brake squealed when he stopped it. ( I thought a mechanic would question this) He put it on the lift for a few minutes.

He struggled to move it back to the parking spot and said
"You need a new engine. Here is a friend who can do it" I said it did not need a new engine when it came in.

If this were a problem before comming here, it would not have passed inspection. I lifted the hood and found the temperature sensor taken off. I asked him why this was done. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

There was no way I could move the car. I went back to work to let it cool. While dealing with a dying mother and other obligations. I let it cool for a few hours. Knowing I could not use the car now. could not resell it honestly. I was now stuck.

I called their regional office for satisfaction. They said you have to go to the shop where the incident occured. I asked for corporate office numbers. They claim they did not know those numbers or address.

I found the headquarters in Chicago. Then kept me on hold, I stayed with this. They also told me the shop where the incident occured is where you go for satisfaction.

I looked at the brake. It was new pads but the old spring. And the wrong pad material. Herb Clearly was not intending to give back the $800 or fix is mistakes. When I finally got the money to replace the engine. I found the alingment was off. This car had not moved in a year

So it had to be them when they replaced the control arms. they did not align the car. The gas line was wrapped around the axle. That takes effort.
