I bought a time share in cancun mexico on my honeymoon and we came home and our first payment was due in oct and I sent the payment to the timeshare in mexico and the next thing I know Monterey has the payment going to them and they sent me a payment book and told me that I was to pay them from now on. I started sending the payment to them and then we got behind because I had some medical problems and was taken out of work permantly. I called monterey and told them of the problems and offered to send them my medical reports and told them that I would pay them as much and as soon as I could. They said one payment got lost in the mail so I had to have my bank stop payment on that check which cost me and then they said every payment was behind from then on and I had to pay the 10.00 late fee that was in the payment book for late fee and then another 15.00 late fee that they tacked on it plus I was sending a check by mail and that was another 12.00 that I was never told about. I sent a payment on 9/21/07 and talked to Nat at ext. 1200 and was told that the next payment due by the payment book before 10/10/07 would be 172.99 and when I called on 10/08/07 I was told the payment would be 185.03. The same person that I talked to on 9/21/07 less than 20 days later it jumped to 185.03 and then I was told that it would cost me another 12.00 to send a check by mail and I told him that I was not told that before and he said he DID NOT tell me before so all the time that I made a check by mail they were charging me 12.00 so Nat told me that it would only cost me 5.00 for a debit card so I went that way and told him that I wanted a letter in one week telling me that it was payed in full and he informed me that it would take 2 days for the payment to clear. WHAT is wrong with this company and who LET them stay in business ripping people off like they do. If anyone out there needs any more info to fight these people email me and I will be happy to help in anyway I can email debradroberts@bellsouth.net

BBB was no help just believed all of what Monterey Financial told them when I have paper work to show them otherwise and out and out lied about no complaints from me I don't know what they sent them but it was not the truth. DO NOT get involved with this company unless you want to get ripped off!
