I received a call from Steven at Nationwide Marketing Solutions telling me that my property at Marriott Ko'Olina was wanted to immediate sale to an individual who had already put down $10,000 toward the property. I asked how he knew I had the property and he said it was because we had previously listed it, which is untrue.
Steven went on to tell me that they would offer me $32,000 for the property.
I told him that I had doubts that my property was worth that much right now since a search on the internet for like properties are going for much less. He insisted it was and they had a buyer. I told him I would do research on his company and to fax me and information they had that I could review.
I never talked about it with my husband because I didn't really think much of it. Then Jason Michaels called at 561-222-4309 and reinforced that they had a buyer and all I had to do was give them $869 for "earnest" money to show I was serious and the only way I wouldn't get it back was if I walked away from a sale that I had agreed to which totally is not what the faxed guarantee states;
"Nationwide Marketing Solutions guarantees that if our marketing fails to produce a buyer/renter for your property before any other company, we will refund 100% of our marketing fee upon proof of sale. Once the unit is sold you are entitled to a full refund from any other company that you have listed with in the past that states within their contract that if your unit sells within 20% of the original asking price a refund will be given."
What a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Talk about confusing the consumer. Jason told me that if I sold my unit I would be refunded the money or if THEY didn't sell it within 60 days I would get a refund. I couldn't lose. Of course, that isn't what the guarantee says and then it becomes a case of he said / she said.
Steven called me again today and I told him that I hadn't had time to look up their company and would call them back when I got around to it. I found Ripoff Report and that was all I needed.
I called Jason who while looking up my information was getting another call and asked if he could call me back. I told him not to bother, I had done my research and discoverd fraud and would not be accepting any more calls from his company.
A legit company, I would think, would want to know that source so they could fix it, but Jason decided his course of action would be to just hang up on me.
Thanks Ripoff Report. I smelled a rat and you guys pointed to where it was. I appreciate it!
Don't fall for this bait!
