NCO Financial Services ripoff sent hate mail to me demanding money I didn't owe Montreal Quebec

A few months ago I received some hate mail from this NCO collections agency, demanding that I pay $909.02 for my account with Fido Solutions. Well, I have no business with Fido, and NCO spelled my name wrong in the letter, so I assumed they had the wrong girl. I called them and left a message, but they never called back.

1 month later I received more hate mail, so I decided to do some research, and called Fido. It turns out that some A-hole stole my SIN number and used it to purchase some cell phones.

If any of you reading this are being accused by NCO of owing money that you don't owe (and you live in Canada) this is what you must do:

1. Call the company you *apparently* owe money too, and tell them you are concerned that you have been a victim of identity theft.

2. Call Transunion, Equifax, and Phonebusters. You can get the numbers from the internet, or the company you owe money too will most likely give you the numbers also. You will have to give them info about how you found out someone stole your identity, plus personal info like your birthday. They will put up a notice to creditors that your credit needs extra attention, so if you purchase something big with your credit card, you will also have to give photo ID etc., to confirm it is really you.

3. File a police report, and give the report #, officers name and phone number to the company you owe money too, so that they have proof that this isn't your fault, and they can go after the real sleeze who did this.
