Neptune Society Don't sign a prearranged contract! Heads they win, tails you lose! Los Angeles, California

Parent signed a contract years ago and paid $1200.  Parent was "forgetful" in final years and didn't place the Neptune Contract for cremation services in a place for me to find.  Parent dies in hospital and hospital requires placement within 24 hours at a funeral home.

OK, family is upset, parent gone, pressure to settle remains.  We arrange cremation and burial at sea under pressure.

Later we fine the Neptune contract that earned interest for them for 10 years. We ask for a refund of the principal only or refund with a small fee for processing.  They take $900 of the $1200 for holding a piece of paper for ten years.

Moral of the story . . . never sign a prearranged contract with Neptune society.  It's actually cheaper to find another company within 24 hours AND if you end up not using them, you save $900.

In other words, they take advantage of you when you are most stressed.
