I bought a car a New Deal Used Cars. I am so sorry that I did.
First of all, they kept telling me that it was 'the best car on the lot'. "If you want a car to get your kids to school and be reliable, this is it."
The car is a 1994 Taurus. The price was $5995. Oh, but they did me a BIG favor, they brought it down to $3995. Still well over Blue Book price, which I didn't know until I got home and checked on it. That didn't include tax and title. I put $1500 down on this piece of crap. Plus tax and title cost.
Almost as soon as I drove the car off the lot, I started having problems. The transmission was slipping. 3 days later the left blinker light went out. The cruise control doesn't work. The back hatch window is broke and won't latch. The rear seat belts we cut out of the car. The rear wiper has no blade.
I went back a few days later and told them that I wasn't happy. They said, "Did you see that 'As Is' sticker in the window? You bought it as is." I went to pay the tax on it and said that if I knew things were going to be like this, I would have taken my 3 legal days to cancel a contract and done so. The woman said, "Oh no, you don't have 3 days to cancel." I thought that you have 3 days to cancel a contract, no matter what it is.
Now it's been about a month since I bought it. The transmission is slipping really bad, the valves are pinging, and the brakes are squealing. The steering wheel is wobbling when I drive and it jerks when I try and turn.
This is not a safe car. And I'm supposed to drive my child around in this? Every day when I get out of the car, my neck muscles are tensed up. This car is not going to last till it's first payment is made.
My advice to anyone is this. Do not buy a car here. The salesmen are extremely nice, which should have tipped me off. They will promise you the moon and the stars just to get you to buy one of their pieces of potential poison.

Is it against the law to picket their car lot, but before I do, call the newspaper to come and get photos?
Or, would it do any good to take them to small claims court? Especially when I can show that I lost wages because of them.

No car...but still have to pay?

Well, the car finally lost it's transmission after 2 months. I told them to come and get this piece of junk.
I lost 3 days work because I had enough money for gasoline until payday, but had to use it to have the car towed. That means I lost wages and any incentives for that week.
Now they're sending me letters saying that they came and repoed the car. No, they didn't. I TOLD them to come and get it.
I understand that it had no warranty, but they should have some responsibility with the cars they sell.
All I want is to get my deposit back, forget about the 2 months when it was giving me trouble. I don't care. And I would like for them to drop the car loan. I shouldn't have to pay for a car that I don't have and couldn't drive if I did.
My best advice to anyone is to never buy a car from these people.

You do have an option
AUTHOR: Kent - (U.S.A.)

there is no 3 day option on cars that only aplies to in home sales like vacums china door to door stuff
however in utah when you buy a car from a dealer it must pass emession control and safety inspection if the car is as big a piece of junk as you say go pay to have the emmision and saftey inspection done then when it fails make a copys of the papers take them to the dealer and to whoever did the inspection tell them it failed and you are notifying the department of transportation motor vehicles dept and the utah consumer protection agency.
you will get there attention real quick thats a huge fine
good luck
