I found this place by looking for a rental on Craigslist. I called the number listed and was connected to New Line Equity. The lady on the phone explained to me that they offer lists of homes in danger of foreclosure that we could search and take over payments. This sounded great given that we want to buy a house, but credit can be an issue.

I told her I would look at the site and decide. I made one more call to ask a few more questions. Those questions were; 1) Is there contact information including phone numbers for each home listed. 2) would the list include the default amount that would have to be paid to bring the loan current. I was assured that it had all the info I could need. I registered online and paid via PayPal. It was $40 for the first month close to $15 for each month there after.

After not receiving anything a few hours after paying, I called them. The lady that I spoke to took ALL of my info AGAIN, and said that they would email me form I had to fill out for my area. I did. They then emailed me "The List" which consisted of a poorly copied letter (the "steps to buying"), a contact letter, a few other forms between seller and buyer. The LIST of properties came in a windows "Notepad" format. Each zip code I requested had a minimal amount of houses, 95% did NOT have the default amount, 60% did NOT have the home owner names, and NONE of them had a phone number. I checked the info on my local county recorders site and found that ALL of the houses had already been foreclosed on and or sold MONTHS if not YEARS before.

I called them back to complain and was hung up on 3 times. You could hear little kids and a tv in the background. I was told there was not a supervisor that I could speak to, and that all they would do is give me a new list.

I have already filed a complaint with PayPal. I will also be filing a complain with the attorney general, local district attorney and the D.A. in San Francisco. I am also going to alert my bank, Craigslist and the real estate board. I am tired of scammers getting away with fraud.
