12 Bucks P/H, High Turnover, Cant Even Pee, No Promotions,No Work Life Balance, Mandatory OT, I had daily anxiety attacks and once a full on mental breakdown which caused my Adherance to Schedule to go lower than 91 percent so it was frowned upon by management. Next Time Ill just die so that all the bugs that plague the office can just eat me.   

Lets talk about Newegg. I was a big fan of the site ever since i got my first paycheck in high school and I bought ram from them. After working here for some time I never want to shop here again. It’s an absolute nightmare and almost a hazard.

For starters as an employee you undergo a 6 week training program that looks as though its meant to be a position that pays at least 15 p h while your going through it at 12. Once you Graduate (yes they call it that) you don’t make more you just make 12.

The job requires you to do more than any e commerce customer service rep should do assuming they made 13 AND WE MAKE 12.  On top of that they are absolutely crazy about their adherence to schedule. Meaning the amount of time that you can be away from your desk. They tell you no ones been fire from it being low, but they also just wont allow promotions to other department because of it. If your someone who has to use the bathroom randomly outside of your break schedule your percentage goes down and they scold you for it. If you don’t take your break on time because you had a customer call you 8 minutes before and now your 30 minutes over it brings down your score and they hold it over your head. The whole ATS thing just makes you live in paranoia and anxiety. I don’t even eat breakfast or lunch or drink liquids out of fear that I might need to use the restroom and the cramps are agonizing!

They drill it into your head that attendance is crucial which I understand but when every employee has a hundred hours of pto because they can never miss a day means your employees are never rested. No Control over your schedules so you might work  weekends and have a Tuesday and a Thursday off and that’s Forever.

You might be in at 5:30 and off at 2:30 but because OT is mandatory your off at 5. Oh and the 8 to 530 just means 8 to 6. The company understands that they are purposely over working you so they offer things to make the environment fun like contests and snacks and watermelon. You see all the other departments having fun but I guarantee you if they were making 12 an hour they would not be.

Employee retention is Low. So low they have 5 or 6 Full time Trainers who make decent earnings and work all year long training a new batch of employees every 6 weeks  because by the end of that batch , the previous batch quit or is quitting..

The amount of stress caused by the environment and being scolded constantly for having a restroom emergency (even if u have a condition) wouldn’t be so bad if it was matched with a salary of the same value. For a 16 an hour job we would all deal with it. But for 12? And you wonder why they leave?

Actually they don’t they know why and that’s why the trainers have salaries for. If they just get rid of the trainers and keep one and bump the starting wage to 14 or 15 I garuntee employees would last more than a  6 weeks. Within a year your seeing a profit knowing u only hired 10 employees insteafd of the literal hundreds. 

Pay your employees more and also CLEAN THE OFFICE. Ask any employee at the Whittier Office if they have bug bites. They all say the same thing. YES. Everyday we don’t know if its fleas mites or bed bugs but we are constantly bitten and laughed at by the non poor people. Its strange how no one is itchy in the higher paid sides? Hmmm. 

All in all the environment is stressful beyond belief. I get to have an anxiety attack every day at lunch in my car instead of food because im too paranoid of getting in trouble for eating food and not being able to control my bowels. 

The work life balance is terrible because of the terrible schedules, And the fact that you work over time every day. They even try to brainwash u in training saying to be there 15 mins before to read emails and stuff before taking clocking in an taking calls that way your doing work for free and have more time to do calls.

It’s a call center. That’s the problem. They try to make it seem like a fun environment  but trust me they wouldn’t need to have so many full time trainers  if they didn’t have such a low employee retention. U wanna fix the Turnover Rate? PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES MORE THAN MCDONALDS AND FIRE YOUR TRAINERS or how bout this? Pay the trainers 50 cents more than the employees. I guarantee they would quit in less than 6 weeks and their job is easy since they can just pee when they want too. They don’t take calls they just train.

Low pay but hey if you can manage to survive it they tell you that the reason they are always hiring is cuz employees are always getting promoted. Hard to believe, There is only so much space in that office and the other departments. Each Department maybe has room for 1 new hire or promotion. If people were always getting promoted than every six weeks you should see different people in those departments. But you don’t? Why? Because No one gets promoted. Your ATS becomes a factor when you try to move up. Even if you have been doing the work they will deny you because you had to pee to much one day.

I really do hope the rich people at headquarters are happy with their jobs. If they only knew what it was like to work as a Starting CSR rep at new egg they would replace all the management in a heart beat from the amount of loss due to employee retention. 

Heres the problem for me,  I have a degree and a decade of experience. I am far too qualified to be making 12 an hour for this kind of work. But hey times got tough from losing my job and I had to say yes to something.  But man do I love being talked down to every day by the trainers who let their salaries blow up their egos. Im done with this place. Oh and  I know their social media guys are reading this right now, their job is to try and hide all the bashin. Cool job. Bet it doesn’t pay 12 an hour. hahahaha on a lighter note, Guys if your working here  there is hope. Amazon pays more and they let you pee
