Starting with the day the movers were to show up they were 5 hours late. They were asked to weight the truck right before they reached the house as there is a truck scale 10 minutes from the house and they didnt, as a matter of fact the receipt they gave me didnt even have a time stamp on it. Once they arrived at the house at 5 pm they told me that they need tape and if I dont have it they do but they will have to charge me for it. I didnt have access to the quote at that time, but my quote states all packing supplies are included in the quote we were charged 270.00 for packing and supplies not to mention many other things listed as being included but was charged extra for. Our destination changed from IL to UT when calling to discuss this with them I was told by Eds secretary and Ed himself that the quote would be adjusted & at the same time I asked about having more items then listed or that the quote was for they said I would pay the difference, not once did they say there was a pricing difference and even when I asked I was told I would pay for the extra pounds that was it. Also in one of the many phone conversations with Ed I asked about packing things, he told me to pack what I could and anything else they would take care of for me all included in the quote. When the movers showed up I was moving in 2 days & felt forced to follow through as I didnt have time to make other arrangements.

I pointed out to the movers that my original quote was for 2000 lbs and I dont know why on the new quote it reflects 1750 lbs he said not to worry about it, I dont have that much stuff. They left with the items loaded in the truck minus a California King log footboard which they strapped to the outside of the truck, with furniture dollys and ladders strapped to it. My friend followed them to the truck stop at which time the truck was reweight and noted that our items were over 6000 lbs. It was verbally agreed upon their arrival in UT they were to go with my fianc and re weight the truck come to the house and unload and then go be re weight again to verify the weight. Once they arrived to the house again 4 hours late they told us no that we were charged per cubic foot otherwise our bill would have been doubled. In their response letter to settle the claim, they claim the items broken were packed by myself, only one box with the broken glasses were packed by myself all other broken items were yard tools or outdoor items that were left unpacked due to size or bulk. The rake, outside umbrella were packed, loaded and broken by the moving company. The axe and the 2 boxes from the house were lost by the moving company and weight much more than 30 pounds and were both were kitchen items and have and will cost me well over 30.00 to replace the items.

As for us not empting the gas out of the lawn mowers, well we were never told that we needed to, HOWEVER the gas was emptied out minus the carburetor which the average person cannot do. However it shouldnt be rocket science to know better than to put lawn mowers on top of mattresss, box springs or boxes. This is to the moving companys complete lack of judgment that things were ruined due to gasoline spilling. The smell was noticed immediately and the mover told us to throw it away it will be replaced, per the notice it is not. As they were packing a file cabinet they ripped tape off of it peeling the finish off and once it was unpacked it literally fell apart into pieces. Things were lost, we were charged for things that we were told were included, we were mislead and taken advantage of. A move that was quoted to cost $1200.00 ended up costing us $5000.00. I am taking them to small claims court and I have also contacted the better business bureau. They broke, lost, overcharged us; they were rude, always late, never answered their phones and lied over and over, it was the worst experience ever and as if moving is not hard enough!
