Very long story made short. I arranged a move from California to Pennsylvania and received a quote of $1,700. When movers arrived at the last minute before I had to leave, they said I had too many items but told me not to worry. They loaded truck, asked me to sign some papers to "show that they were there" (papers had blanks but they said not to worry) and they left. I called the company a number of times after that to find out a delivery date. They finally called back and said the cost was now approx. $4,400 and I needed to send additional money in a certified check or money order because they did not trust me (apparently because I complained and filed a complaint with the US Dep't of Transportation at the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration),
I sent the additional money and they said I would have to pay the $2,200 + balance at delivery in either cash or with a US Postal Money Order. Due to a death in our family, I was out of town and arrived back shortly before midnight the day of the delivery. The driver called me at 7:15 AM the next day and said he was a mile from my house. When he arrived, I explained that I had $1,000 cash available and would have the balance as soon as the banks opened. He said he couldn't wait as he had a pick-up but would come back about 5:00 PM. Subsequently, the President/dispatcher called and said the driver would come the next day and there was now an additional $700 "re-delivery" charge.
Ultimately, I received most of the shipment but was charged an additional $150 because the truck was more that 50 feet from the delivery site. Therefore, a $1,700 move cost more than $5,000.
If you have had similar experiences with this company, please contact me about a possible class or group action lawsuit.

Exact Same Thing Happen to Me

I was quoted 1700.00, they showed late, asked me to sign papers while I rushed out to the airport. (same thing, to show they were there) Received a call 2 days later. Price was now almost 5500.00.
Is there someone filing suit? I was told to pay and then take them to small claims court.
Please give me contact number to discuss.
