North America Transfer Moved from CA to HI, they quoted me $2,500, charged me $4,534.70. Was an hour late picking up. Told me it would take 25-45 days for arrival but took close to 3 months and I'm missing important items. Simi Valley, California

I used North America Transfer for my move from CA to Hawaii.  They quoted me $2,500, said that this was a high quote being that I didn't have much stuff and said that it would take 25-45 days for it to arrive in Hawaii but most likely only 25 days.  The sales person also told me that after the deposit the rest of the money would be due at delivery.

The movers arrived more than an hour after the time slot they had given me.  They had me sign a bunch of paperwork that I didn't have a chance to read over because he was rushing me (which I am really regretting).  They loaded everything up and I said thanks and went to leave.  He said wait you need to pay. I told him that I wasn't expecting to pay right then and he said it was his instructions from his boss to collect payment. And of course it was around 8 pm so there was no body to call. The mover told me that I was 75 cubic square feet over the estimate and that I owed $4,534.70, check or cash which after the deposit brings the grand total to $5,039.70.  I had to have my mom write him a check.

On day 30 I called to see where my stuff was in its journey. No one answered, no one called back.  I called again. No one answered, no one called back.  I waited.  Weeks passed and when I finally got a hold of someone they simply told me that it is on its way.  One day 45 I called again and they told me that it had just left CA and said that they have 21 days after my "first available date" to actually ship it to me.  Every person I have talked to has been extremely rude and not helpful.

When I finally received my things, 2 weeks shy of 3 months, I discovered that I was missing 2 boxes with valuable and sentimental items, half of a bed frame and a full length mirror. I am now waiting for them to find these things.  At this point I don't even know how to proceed.  If anyone has any advice please let me know. This has been a very stressful, expensive and time consuming process!
