I had original fixed payments on my mortgage of $450.00 a month. Within 2 years of the contract NASB raised my house payments to $560.00 a month. A year after that my house not was $650.00 a month! They offered no explanation except that the economy had caused these rates to rise! I started to fall behind on my payments but still managed to make the payments by the end of the month. The next thing I know I am paying for PMI and only 12% of my payments are going towards the principle!!!! On December 13, 2010 I called NASB and spoke with Ally. I let her know that I wanted to improve my credit score and would like to start by making up any late charges on my mortgage payments. I payed over the mortgage amount by $300.00 dollars only to receive a letter that a late charge of $300.00 had been assessed to my mortgage because they didn't receive my payment until the 17th and it was due on the 15th of December! I was outraged! I spoke again with Ally to find out why this charge had been assessed when the letter was clearly postmarked for the 13th of December and the money order was dated for the 13th of December. She stated that it was supposed to be there by the 15th. I am outraged by the service that I have received from NASB. Do not utilize their loans. They may offer you a good deal in the beginning but in the end you will pay severely for utilizing their company!

Thanks Robert from "Irvine" for responding to my true statement.
Too bad you did not remain true to your mission to protect the company that you work for Robert. You are a loan consultant for NASB in KANSAS. Why didn't you just say you were representing the company.
This in itself just proves how your company North American Savings Bank operates. At the time I had A+ credit until your company started ballooning my rate. I'm sure you nor your company will not take responsibility for your actions. You will be just like Wells Fargo and Bank of America. I await your response. Until then have a wonderful day.

There is no Ripoff here, other than the possible RipOff of the lender approving you for a Mortgage when you either didn't havegood enough credit, or probably could not have afforded it.
You were proabably approved for an ARM(Adjustable Rate Mortgage). These loans have a "Fixed" rate for the first portion of the loan, in your caseit sounds like2 years. Then they "Adjust", usually up, and you make higher payments. These loans offer lower rates in the beginning and are best for people who know that they will be out of that house before it adjusts. But many lenders used them to get people approved for a Mortgage that couldn't get approved for slightly higher "Fixed" rate loans.
Your Mortgage is due on the 1st, most lenders give you a "grace" period where they do not assess any late fees until the 15th. But that is a firm date, so if they RECEIVE it after that date you will be assessed late fees. The date on any letter, postmark, or check/money order means NOTHING. You could date it on the 1st of the month, but if they don't get it until the 16th it is still late.
