Northern Leasing Systems Misleading sales practices bamboozled me into a 4 year lease New York, New York

A rep for Priority Merchant Processing convinced me to sign a 4 year lease with Northern Leasing Systems on a credit card swiper. The $53/month lease payment was supposed to be more than offset by my savings, netting me around $100/month in lower fees. The savings never materialized and, with the lease payment, my costs had actually increased significantly. And now I'm stuck in a lease totaling over $2500 over the 4 years for a swiper I could buy for $250!

Priority claims they have no control or influence over Northern Leasing, even though it was their rep who brought me the lease. Oh, and he no longer works there. Northern Leasing has ignored my faxes and a certified letter. On the phone, the most creepy guy at Northern informed me there was no canceling or shortening the lease. My only option is to make all 48 payments. My argument that I had entered the lease under false pretenses fell on deaf ears.

I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against Priority Merchant Processing asking for assistance in canceling the lease. The outcome: the dispute was deemed at a stalemate and thereby considered resolved.
