I got an e-mail for a free trial of Acai Berry. My wife is all about losing weight so she wanted to try it. I gave them my credit card number thinking I was paying the $3.97 shipping, as their advertisement specified. I was quite surprised when I was charged about $90. When I disputed the claim I found out it was for 2 bottles of the Acai Berry mess. I did not read all the super fine print to realize that I was really signing up for a monthly subscription of the product.

Please do not fall for this scam.

The offer that you ordered from is a free 21-day trial offer for the Acai Berry Edge. You pay only the shipping and handling up front, if you try the product and determine that you are unsatisfied you can return the unused portion within the trial period and not be billed a thing. If you keep the product then you would be billed for them after the trial period ends. Even after your trial period ends you still have a period of time (up to 30 days from your date of purchase), to return your trial order to be reimbursed. We do present the terms and conditions of this offer on the order page and our customers must check a box accepting the terms of this offer for the order to even process.

Also included with this offer is an autoship program which begins 45 days after your order is placed. We reduce the cost of the product and send them out with free shipping which is a benefit to our customers who are happy with our products. If our customers wish to cancel or postpone their autoships they are able to do so at anytime by contacting us and letting us know. The $79.90 amount you were charged was not for the autoship this charge would be for the trial bottles that were kept after the 21-day trial period.

Thank you,
Supervisor

Why do people continue to fall for MLM and free-trial scams???

AUTHOR: Jt - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 19, 2009

These types of MLM scams have been around forever, yet people continue to fall for them. You received an email from someone you don't know and they want to give you something for free? It might be a way to make money quickly and easily, a way to lose weight fast, a way to get free services (cable, phone, etc). Those emails belong in the garbage, or your junk email folder!

Seriously think about it! There is NO way to make money quickly and easily by doing nothing, there is NO way to lose weight without proper diet and exercise (or liposuction), nobody is going to give you free services when there are obviously markets in every state, city, town that they could otherwise enter and charge for those services.

These companies offering crap like free trial of Acai Berry, are just preying on people's desire to find a quick fix for a weight issue. Seriously, these scams have been around forever. I feel like the world is taking crazy pills! If anyone is offering you a free anything, it is not a legitimate company? Do you want some more crazy pills? Cause I will give you a 10-day free trial!!

Please stop responding to junk emails that offer free trials, quick fixes, free services, or money for doing nothing I'm tired of getting email like that. If everyone stopped responding to it, it would stop being sent. Didn't your parents every tell you there is no such thing as a free lunch? Wise up.
