Oasis Travel Club Ripoff 2nd prize trip to Florida, Bahamas, wanted cousin's credit card Toronto Ontario

First of all, I can only guess they're in Toronto, because that's what the other reports say and I never got anything to say otherwise.

So, I got a call yesterday from a Lisa Marie with Oasis Travel that I won a big trip to Florida and a cruise to the Bahamas. Being 18, I'm naturally naive, so I'm flipping out. I confirmed my address and birthday, and they said that a person 21 or older must accompany me on my trip. I mentioned my cousin (only by 'her') and said I would call back tomorrow once she okayed it.

When I told my cousin, she was freaking out, just like me. So, tomorrow morning arrives, and at 10AM I get a call from them again, this time from a lady named Ellen. This is when I got very suspicious. Ellen is no smooth talker.

She informs me I won a trip, and I told her I got this call yesterday. She said there was no comment about being notified, and she wasn't happy about that. Later, she mentions that I (and/or my cousin) would have to pay $319 in taxes. Sounded reasonable to me, but when I tried to get the information packet I was promised yesterday by Lisa Marie, Ellen said I would have to pay the taxes first. BUZZ! Wrong answer! I told her I would have to talk to my cousin first about this and I'd call back later today. I mentioned how I was kinda cautious about this and she goes into some tangent about how they work with the FTC and everything's recorded and contracts and yadda-yadda. I was sick. So the call pretty much ended there.

So my mom, who was pretty much on my back the whole time making sure I didn't bury my grave, told me to look up the company online first. I couldn't find anything, so I came here, and found the exact same situations. Go figure. I thought I actually had a spurt of good luck come about me for a change. Oh, well.

Oh, yeah, and it's not over yet, either. When Ellen or Lisa Marie or whoever calls back next time, I am going to have a REALLY good time messing with their heads. Muahaha.
