PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE ENTRY! IT IS IMPORTANT YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND WHAT THEY WILL DO TO YOU!

I am absolutely FURIOUS with OBX Racing Sports. I bought a 5" carbon Fiber tachometer from OBX RACING SPORTS (A.K.A. OBX) on Amazon. I received it and it was defective. I am the owner of an automotive shop and a mechanic of over 11 years. I am a certified mechanic so I know what I am doing. I installed the tachometer and it did not function correctly. I tried several times from different sources for the RPM signal wire with the same results.

Contacting OBX is VERY, VERY difficult. The do this because they do not want to deal with customers and their problems. But after dyas of research and endless hours of searching the internet and blogs I finally found a good contact point. I contacted OBX's customer service department and spoke to a guy named Andrew. He was VERY RUDE. In our emails he even stated the item WAS indeed defective. When I asked him where I was to send it back to get an exchange, he stated to me because it was a......quote "ELECTRONIC" unquote. item it was not covered under their refund or exchange policy. I stated to him that they could not sell me a broken item that was supposibly new and tell me they would not replace it. There is a federal law that states this. It is called the LEMON LAW. He emailed me and told me they would not fix the problem due to their policy stating anything electronic would not be covered. SO theoretically they could package up dog crap run a few wires through it and take your money; and there is nothing you can do about it. It has electronics in it. No matter how crooked it is they think they can do this and get away with it. However I could spend another $115 to get a new one. I asked him what would happen if I did that and received another defective tachometer? No response. I would have to then buy yet another one. Are you following this yet? I would have to continue to buy defective items that are being sold as new till I bought one that worked...according to the OBX customer service department. So at this point he stopped emailing me when I stated the simple truths. It's funny to see how people react when they think your dumb when in fact you really know what you are talking about. Long story short he stopped responding to my emails thinking I would just go away. I contacted Amazon about this and they would not help me out either. In one of the other emails received from OBX they stated I could "break open" the tachometer and try to hard wire it or rig it up to work. They thought they could convince me to void the other part of their warranty that states they will not take a part that has been tampered with. DUH!!! Come-on. He really thought I was that stupid. Plus I am not going to screw with a NEW part to get it to work. I bought a NEW part. It needs to freaking work. Thats stupid to ask what they did.

AMAZON.COM IS ANOTHER DEFECTIVE EBAY.COM! Doesn't it just figure that yet another company refuses to fix an obvious injustice and obvious problem. Amazon.com does NOT stand by their customers either. They were NO help. It was very obvious I was scammed and being taken advantage of but they just said they could not force the seller to refund my money or exchange it. When the freaking customer service of OBX says it was defective then it is pretty freaking clear who is at fault. All I wanted was an exchange but was refused. HORRIBLE COMPANY!

As of right now I have a lawsuit filed against the company OBX. I am in the process now of filing through the BBB - Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection. They will not get away with this. I want everyone to know what is going on when and what you WILL deal with when dealing with this company.

1.) Low grade customer service

2.) Problems getting a refund or exchange due to their illegal and unrealistic fine print in their return policies. Just because they put it in writing does not mean they can not be held accountable for a defective item. The Lemon Law will always apply here.

3.) POORLY made parts

4.) A company that WILL NOT stand by their product. They would rather make a quick buck, and screw their customers then to take care of a simple problem THEY FREAKING MADE TO BEGIN WITH!

5.) A difficult time contacting and dealing with them when you do.

So that is all I have to say. I hope you chose NOT to buy from this company. I have found out that MANY people are having problems with OBX. I should have listened to the people in BLOGS. The other people dealing with OBX Racing Sports parts really had it right.
