OKINUS Consumer Notification Pelham Georgia

Complainant states that Okinus, Inc. is flying under the radar as a finance merchant which is an incorrect and totally inacurrate depiction of Okinus, Inc.  Okinus, Inc. is a rental company.  Okinus’ web site specifically describes their agreement with their customer as “a lease-purchase agreement (or in specified states, a lease agreement with an option to purchase; a consumer rental-purchase agreement; a rent-to-own agreement; a lease-purchase agreement; a consumer-lease agreement). The customer will not own the merchandise until the total amount necessary to acquire ownership is paid in full or the customer exercises his or her early purchase option. Ownership is optional.” Furthermore, Okinus, Inc.’s lease agreement clearly states that the agreement is a lease and that the agreement is between Okinus as the Lessor and the customer as the Lessee.  The lease agreement includes a specific number of rental payments (term) and a periodic payment amount to satisfy the agreement. After the agreement is satisfied the customer owns the merchandise.
