A guy came by my house stating he just finished a delivery for one of my neighbors and has been delivering to them for years now. He said he had. The meat he showed me was a case of steaks and a case of chicken. It looked great. I was like "Wow I wont have to go grocery shopping for months", I was super excited. He told me if I just bought the case of chicken he would throw the steaks and a case of seafood in for free to pay the tax on the other 2 cases.  OK, the deal was too good to be true. I called my husband to see what he thought, he said go for it. So I ended up paying a total of 432.26 for 3 cases of meat. He brought it inside for me and I packed them in my freezer. When I was done, I got online to check out the company website....Thank God I did. I found this website with all the bad reviews and experiences. I even checked with BBB, which by the way the company has an "F" rating. I immediately contacted my bank and did a stop payment on my check. I was really upset by the reviews of the horrible quality of the food.

Well, my husband and his buddy from work got home and the sales guy came back by saying that he was unable to cash the check (which by the way he had me write out to him instead of the company, that should have been a light bulb over my head right there). I told him about all the horrible reviews I read about the food quality. I had my husband and his friend take the food back out to the guys truck and off he went.... I am so glad I didn't lose my money on this scam. If I had paid by cash or card...I would have been screwed. The guy even told me he took food stamps...WTF????

Good stuff; don't overpay

AUTHOR: Jeff - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, June 15, 2012

This complaint is incredible -- woman never tries the product and undoes the deal because she paid too much, which she did.....these are individual salesmen, you can negotiate, and if you don't know how to negotiate HARD, you'll get taken -- don't fault the company or the salesman; this is AMERIKA!  I paid $110 for the steaks, did all the math, $6.87/Lb for individually cryovac-packaged servings, 3 of the 6 parcels are USDA "Choice" whereas supermarkets nowadays are all "SELECT" pretty much all the time, and I've eaten 3 types now and they're fine.

Pay less for the chicken (I'd give about $4.00 / Lb, maybe $7.00/Lb on the seafood, and you're getting a fair deal for a fair product.  I find it incredible that people blame the company for their own inability to negotiate.  You're getting ZERO waste, as the servicings are indiviual, and trim waste is pretty aggressively cut; what I've had so far are very cleanly trimmed, so you're not buying gristle and fat like in the stores....if you pay the $430 for 3 boxes, yes go ahead an file a "ripoff" report, because you just paid something like $10/Lb for everything, including CHICKEN, dumba**......

Quality Of Food!!! Taking E.B.T.!!!

AUTHOR: meatgirl09 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, July 17, 2010

Why is It OK For a company Like schwan's or a tiny mini mart on the corner run by a foreigner to accept food stamps but a company with 26 years of service and 8 stores the just happen to come by your house not too... we process E.B.T. transaction approximative 300 times a day all through out the month... Some people may not know that their are guideline we have to follow when we sell to people who have E.B.T. we are only allowed to process their card once a month and we can only charge a total of $228 per case... not to exceed a total of $500 total on a single card... bet you didn't know that... I actually got started in this job because my husband worked for Schwan's and a Meat Man came to our house selling steaks... I turned him down because of course we got our food from schwan's! then when my husband came home he said he had been stopped  my a different meat man and offered a job... he had a vacation coming up that was 2 weeks long so we thought why not try it out for 2 weeks if i was legate we would stay if not then no money lost or time... We loved it we get to work together and make more money than any other job either of us has every had... i Love the product and have even seen the processing plant in Florida where all of our food is processed... you can not sell food to any person that has not been inspected and passed by the department of agriculture.... why do think their isn't squirrel or raccoon or even deer being sold at you local Grocery store.. because it isn't being passed by the U.S.D.A.   Our stuff is !!!!
