This company said that I had a past due account with AT&T for $112.00. I never was contacted by this company or AT&T for any outstanding bill. I contacted AT&T, talked to a couple of different divisions, gave them the supposed "account Number" that was used on my credit report. They both said they had no such account number and that they showed no unpaid balance on any account for me.
This is so wrong that a bogus company like this can slam someone's credit record without any grounds whatsoever and the credit company accepts it, without any proof, and posts it for any of your "genuine" creditors to see.

Send a copy to the collection company, certified mail return receipt requested, advising them that you have contacted AT&T and this is not your account and they are to remove it from your credit report immediately. Send copies of ALL of your correspondence to your state Attorney General's office and the Attorney General's office of the state where the collection company is located. Good luck.
