Palm Beach Tan Pacific Beach Tan "Don't Try To Cancel Your Membership!" They are NOT professional Vancouver, Washington

I liked Palm Beach Tan. Have been a customer for 3 years. First year, I had a 1-year membership. When it ended, I just stopped going.

When I renewed my membership it was on a monthly basis and I kept it for a year. During that year of tanning regularly, the pressure from the customer service representatives got worse and worse. The pressure to "buy" was awful, and made it uncomfortable to sign in to tan. Pressure to buy lotions, lip balms, upgrade to a better bed. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Perhaps, I wonder, do they make it uncomfortable on purpose? If you don't go back as often, yet they're still getting they're monthly membership fee, in some cases until long after the service relationship has ended. I think it's definitely a scam. 

When I first started going there three years ago (formerly Pacific Beach Tan) they were friendly. There was no pressure. It was nice. So I went back. I wouldn't go back to them now if they were the only tanning place in town. 

I recently cancelled my membership at Palm Beach Tan because I simply can't afford it right now. I was otherwise satisfied, and would have gone back to them some day again, when finances improve.

...until Palm Beach Tan insisted on taking an additional monthly membership fee from me, after cancelling my membership and thereby not tanning, i.e., not using their service anymore. They threatened to take me to collections.

As a result of my unsatisfactory farewell with them, I looked up Palm Beach Tan here, on Ripoff Report, and learned what other consumers had to say. I did close my bank account. They won't have the opprotunity to take anymore fees from me.

I'm really regretful that they got any money from me at all, in this economy and hard times...I'd rather part with my hard earned cash a little more cautiously than that. There are exemplary tanning places out there. And I will gladly give them my money.
