Papa Johns Pizza Requested I clean grease traps above a running 500 degree oven , when I objected to doing the task with the top oven running I was written up and then fired after 3&1/2 years of working there Dahlonega Georgia

 I had worked at this location for 3& 1/2 years and was an exceptional employee who went above and beyond my job requirements and description on a regular basis. I had driven 2 hours to drop my children at a baby sitters to ensure I could be at work for my 4 hour shift, upon my arrival my shift manager was outwardly irritable. Despite my efforts to do extra cleaning tasks outside of my normal assigned deployment tasks, she continuously snapped at me to additional tasks. This was not a problem for me and I was more than happy to do them, I however was extremely put off by her demeanor toward myself and others. I was then asked to take grease traps down from above the top oven , which was running and 500 degrees, in order to clean them. Having done this task many times before, and being very familiar with both corporate policies as well as state safety procedures regarding this task, I objected to doing the task while the top oven was running but informed her that I would be happy to do the cleaning task if she would turn the top oven off and run the bottom oven while I did as per company procedure stated. This is the way the tasks had been done every time it was done over the 3&1/2 years I worked there. Another manager overheard the conversation and got a broom to pull the grease traps down instead, at which time I willing started cleaning the grease traps. I was very bothered by what had ensued and approached my assistant manager about it and asked how I could file a corporate complaint against the shift manager about this ridiculous treatment, the assistant manager stated that " she had also had issues with the same shift manager and was addressing those issues with our regional manager at their next meeting,that she would bring it to the general managers attention and find out how I file such a complaint. At that point, my delivery was ready and as I was getting my order ready to go, another employee stated that the shift manager wanted to see me. As I approached her, she informed me that she was writing me up and after I dropped my delivery off , she was sending me home. I was very upset, I felt this was not only an unwarranted write up but now after driving 2 hours to drop my kids off, I was being sent home. I told her I wanted to speak with our general manager about it and felt not only that I should not have been being sent home, but also felt strongerly that they should've have been sending her home instead. I called my general manager and expressed my distaste about the whole thing. The next day I was scheduled to work an evening shift, I texted my manager to confirm that I was still to come in for my shift. I was told " yes ma'am". An hour and 1/2 later, my general manager called me and terminated my employment.
