I was told my credit report was neccessary to be able to get a lease for a new 07 civic. This is something I was well aware of before I went into the dealership. The salesmen I dealt with was Victor Diaz. I will never forget that name because he lied to my face and told me my credit had been checked and gave me a bogus number on what it was. I found out it hadn't actually been ran and he had lied to me when I actually went into the banker who works directly in the dealership.

He informed me that my credit would have to be run to get my monthly payment which had already been settled at 299/month. I told him that vicotr Diaz had already had somebody run my credit and then he informed me that no one on the car floor has the ability to run credit reports. I was extremely angry that he had lied to me, but was helpless in that I had already signed the lease agreement.

The lesson to learn here is DO NOT SIGN anywhere until you are 100% sure of what has been agreed upon. Car salesmen are all greedy money hungry commissioned jerks. Period

I Hate To Tell You But...

That's the way most or all dealership are run. The salesman can tell you whatever you want to hear, but the deal ISN'T done until IT's DONE in finance. From your post, I can tell you don't have much experience with car dealers. Dealers lie all the time. That's a given. IF HIS LIPS ARE MOVING, HE"S LYING. IF you allow them to get away with it. If they know, you know, they won't do it or try it. I buy alot of vehicles. Any time I've had one try, I give 'em a dirty look like nice try. They know they've been caught. And they also know that IF they try again, I'm out of there. The sad part is they give me the look like, hey you can't blame a guy for trying. As for your $299 per month. That's the price they quote on the ads. They also pitch in all the disclaimers about "Those who qualify", usually for top tier credit scores, also the $XXX due at signing, PLUS tax, title and license and what ever else they're gonna rip you for. So, by the time you get done, you're paying $3 or $400 or more a month on a lease. Don't forget about mileage restrictions on leases. IF you drive over X amount of miles per year you're screwed. My dimwit son-in-law went over his mileage by 26,000 miles and owed an extra $4,000 and that was at 15 cents a mile. Some lady wrote the other day that her lease had her at 60 cents per mile. The 15 cents was years ago.
