I purchased the car I wanted and after signing all the paperwork was given a copy. I financed it and only wanted to finance half which is what MY copy said. It did not however show the additional money I put on a charge card but there was a separate receipt for that, no problem. The problem was when I received the  financing booklet from the bank I noticed I was financing 5,000 dollars more than I wanted to. I looked into the xtras, tax, plates all the little things they add that are just their way of making money off of you and somehow it did not add up to 5,000 dollars. I called the bank and was told that was the correct amount. I called the dealership and was told that as well. I asked why is it so much more than what I agreed on. the dealerships answer was that I signed up for an additional warranty that was almost 3,000 dollars more. I said no I did not, I have your paperwork and it is not on here. I have additional paperwork about a warranty but I did not sign it and I NEVER was asked if I wanted it and I would never pay that amount for only 12, 000 miles more of coverage. The dealership said they will send me another copy which they did. and sure enough it was all there. WHY didn't I have that copy in the first place? why the deception? The dealership said I could cancell it and I said yes. The dealership said it would take 60 days, I said fine. 6 MONTHS later I still do not have that money taken off the loan. So many lies,for example, it went to the wrong account. It went to an insufficient address, all lies. My opinion is that they wait so long just so the salesman and their dealership can get the xtra commission from Chevrolet, plain and simple. they had me sign something and then switched it when they gave me my copy. one of the oldest games in the book. I will never buy from them again. the salesman Mike was a shrewd person as well, but that is another story. The moral is, they are all out to scam you, especially if you are a woman alone.

The dealership is showing their incompetence and greed

Clearly the dealership has a policy in place to completely ignore customer requests and/or ignore customer service. It doesn't take six months to cancel an auto warranty. However, if the warranty is in place longer than X days (not sure if it is 60 days or longer) then the dealership gets to keep a large portion of the commission paid to sell the warranty to you. Hence, they are dragging their feet and ignoring your request to cancel so they can keep the entire commission.

Shame on this dealership managment that encourages this greedy incompetence.  Read up on auto extended warranty's at FTC(dot)gov.

Right on the contract is a statement that extended warranties are optional. Yet, this dealership is clearly doesn't care about the customer. If they did, the extended warranty would have been cancelled immediately and the refund applied as a credit to the loan balance.

Just think, if this dealership doesn't have the expertise to cancel a warranty and provide the full refund to the customer upon request, how could you ever consider getting your vehicle serviced there? Incompetence is a habit.

Don't reward this slimy, unethical, incompetent dealership with your business in the future for service or for purchasing another vehicle. Good luck in finding another place to have your vehicle serviced.

Thank you for speaking with Steve Skulnik, general manager, about your frustrations.  We apologize for the length of time it is taking to cancel your vehicle's warranty. As Steve mentioned on the phone, we did have a wrong address.  We have re-sent the cancellation notice via certified mail.  We apoologize for the frustration this may have caused.
