PDL Assistance Rips People Off!! I'm Filing a Complaint with Alabama Attorney General's Office...you should too! Mobile Alabama
*Consumer Comment: UPDATE - PDL Assistance Has Been A Lifesaver for Me
* : The consumer affairs office doesn't do jack
I signed up in November with PDL. Paid $200 upfront, and have paid 148.00 per month, towards funds to help consolidate my payday accounts. Thus far, I have paid a total of $1088 and have not had one account paid off. I am FILING A COMPLAINT with the ALABAMA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE and you should consider doing the same. Maybe we will at least get some of our money back. They are gouging people when they are supposed to be helping people.
They are nothing but a rip-off!

Best of luck getting any assistance from the Alabama attorney general of Alabama consumer affairs office, they do not help you. I have been more successful In filing complaints because I filed with the attorney general, where the business Is located.
Attorney general takes out of state complaints, some have where you can file online & some you have to mail you complaint. I haven't been successful with the Alabama attorney general consumer office.
I do not know what the problem Is, they just plain don't care about the people of Alabama or out of state people. The people In the office have a smart a*s attitude. They don't care about the people getting abused or victimized from collection agencies.
Or from businesses Its no wonder these bad businesses continue to victimize people or abuse them, because the consumer affairs office does not care. There must be something going on there.
They are not doing there job In protecting consumers, They just don't care about people or how bad there lives will be ruined. The people In the consumer affair office @ the attorney general should be fired.
Because of their smart a*s mouths thinking they are so much better, that they can treat people like this. They do not work hard for the people, we don't matter to them.
All the business has to do I lie & make you out to be the liar!, that Is the whole problem!.

UPDATE - PDL Assistance Has Been A Lifesaver for Me

I am scheduled to have 2 more of my accounts paid this Fri. thru PDL Assistance. This will make a total of 4 out of 10 pdl's paid off. In addition, the remaining 6 have been negotiated and are scheduled to be paid June 30, the end of this month.
For me, PDL Assistance has been a lifesaver. I am sorry it hasn't worked out for some and don't understand why it hasn't, if you follow the steps. NOTE: The original lender CAN still call you (I still get calls from Ameriloan, even though this account has been negotiated and is scheduled to be paid this month) but collection agencies have NOT been calling me once I sent the cease & desist letter, per PDL Assistance's instructions.
It has taken a year, but in the meantime I have NOT been getting the harassing calls I would have gotten otherwise. It is true you can do this yourself and it probably would have taken about the same length of time. You could save $$ on fees - UNLESS you don't negotiate as low a settlement as PDL Assistance would. And unless you have nerves of steel, you'd probably end up settling for a higher amount to pay off your loan to stop the calls. And some of the illegal internet payday loan co.'s would still profit because they'd still get paid over and above the principal amount of the loan.
I also found it unnerving not knowing what scare tactics are real and what are bogus, or just bluffing, when I got initial calls from collection agencies.
