Pepboys Pepboys La Habra Pepboys in La Habra didn't tighten a caliper bolt on my brakes. Pepboys in Santa Ana fixed it & tried to cheat me saying I needed new back brakes when I didn't. La Habra, California

I had Pepboys in La Habra do a brake inspection on my car on October 3, 2011.  They suggested I have the front brakes rebuilt charging me $724.67.  I had them do the work that day.  Then on January 1, 2012 I was driving on the freeway when I tried to apply my brakes my brakes failed.  I was in traffic so I wasn't going that fast and I was able to stop in time, but when I applied the gas even to go 5 miles per hour the front part of my car shook and made a horrible grinding sound. I pulled off to the side of the road and called a tow truck.  I had my car towed to Pepboys in Santa Ana because it was the closest Pepboys.  Pepboys in Santa Ana told me that I was missing a caliper bolt on the front driver side. Santa Ana Pepboys fixed the front brakes and proceeded to tell me that I needed my back brakes done as well.  They wanted to charge me $585.14 to replace the back brakes & insisted that Pepboys in La Habra should have noticed that when they inspected my car in October.  They said that my brake pads were worn down.  I told them not to touch my brakes and that I would talk to Pepboys in La Habra.  When I went into Pepboys in La Habra to complain they said they would check my brakes.  They then proceeded to tell my that my back brakes were fine, that the the pads were close to being brand new. 

Do not go to Pepboys they either didn't tighten the caliper bolt to spec. or left it off entirely.  They also tried to make me pay for parts and services that I did not need. They are shady very shady.
